  1. Right now I’m gonna object. NO one will accept Sophia Nomvete as a Dwarven Princess. No Beard! (we know canonically they do, Gimli told us so!)

Unfortunately this is Yet More Gret TV I’ll never see because Fuck Bezos, I’m not giving him a dime.

Also I’m pretty sure that there is some info in the vast array of Random Crap From Dad’s Filing Cabinets books put out by Christopher Tolkien that covers the Rings origin story? (been a long while since I read the Silmarillion, and I don’t think I ever got a copy of ‘Book of Lost Tales, let alone the 12 volume directors cut History of Middle Earth )

      BDR,

Well, I’m the founder of the Eff Bezos Club, so I know this one will be lost to me until something changes, BUT the VF article explains in detail the source material and how they are doing this. It’s worthy of one of your freebies for the month. There’s a lot of back story I did not know existed, and I never made it through The Silmarillion when I was in college.

      Rgds,

Read all four of them when I worked in a book store, 20+ yrs. ago. Don’t remember much now, other than Chris & dad trying to work out (By mail, no less, while Christopher was in the army in Egypt.) the exact phases of the moon on the imaginary dates.

They must think we are stupid. Middle-Earth is a story, it is an expression of values, it is a thought bubble. It helped me when i was a kid. Now Amazon is hoping to cash in.

Amazing, they found an actress to play Galadriel whose real name sounds more made up than her character’s name.

I shall now go listen to the Alarm’s Welsh version of the Change album.

I am sorry friends, i can’t do this. I have fled to Discworld for now, as a refugee. Every once in a while i still get information from Hain, but the signals are getting faint.
