She Seems Nice

This is quite a campaign platform from Shelley Luther, a Republican who is running for the Texas Leg: let’s attack vulnerable children!

“I am not comfortable with the transgenders. The kids that they brought in my classroom, when they said that this kid is transgendering into a different sex, that I couldn’t have kids laugh at them … like, other kids got in trouble for having transgender kids in my class.”

She’s complaining that she has to stop the other kids from bullying students in her classroom. Helpfully she adds that she’s uncomfortable around these kids, too.

Well, OK then!

Some people are just not a good fit for their jobs.

  1. I have noticed that every trope used against gays and lesbians 40 or 50 years ago is now being used against trans people now. When I point that out to anti trans people they tell me it is not true because gays and lesbians are accepted by people and people don’t have a problem with us, it is the T in LGBTQ+ that is causing all the problems. Where to start? How to explain?

Maybe get out your pocket calendar and point – “See this square here? That represents today. See this square to the left of it? This represents yesterday. Do you remember yesterday? No? Oh, that explains soooo much.”
(Don’t do this on Sunday, or that “square to the left” thing won’t work.)

    • Not exactly. Not every trope. & the trans ideology is much different than the gay & lesbian situation 40 years ago. It’s very anti-woman.

      • Hell Polly. I disagree. Everything I have heard directed toward / at trans people now was directed at me and my friends by the anti-gay anti lesbian traditionalist crowd. This stuff about bathrooms was used against the us, locker rooms also. Why are we forcing our lifestyle on them the good upstanding straight people who talked about their wives and girlfriends no stop and showed pictures of their family together would complain. I have to laugh because feminist were hit by these tropes and feminists an attempt to turn feminists against lesbians. It is an attempt by the old guard to not have to change their thinking and their actions toward others.

Shame on her. She’s a shameful adult, much less a teacher.
