Area Thief Strikes Again

Gee, I wonder why he would steal papers?

National Archives had to retrieve Trump White House records from Mar-a-Lago

President Donald Trump improperly removed multiple boxes from the White House that were retrieved by the National Archives and Records Administration last month from his Mar-a-Lago residence because they contained documents and other items that should have been turned over to the agency, according to three people familiar with the visit…

…Trump advisers deny any nefarious intent and said the boxes contained mementos, gifts, letters from world leaders and other correspondence. The items included correspondence with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, which Trump once described as “love letters,” as well as a letter left for his successor by President Barack Obama, according to two people familiar with the contents.

Dude would steal anything not nailed down. I mean anything he had not torn-up first:

President Donald Trump tore up briefings and schedules, articles and letters, memos both sensitive and mundane.

He ripped paper into quarters with two big, clean strokes — or occasionally more vigorously, into smaller scraps.

He left the detritus on his desk in the Oval Office, in the trash can of his private West Wing study and on the floor aboard Air Force One, among many other places.

And he did it all in violation of the Presidential Records Act, despite being urged by at least two chiefs of staff and the White House counsel to follow the law on preserving documents.

“It is absolutely a violation of the act,” said Courtney Chartier, president of the Society of American Archivists. “There is no ignorance of these laws. There are White House manuals about the maintenance of these records.”

The Federal Records Act 18 U.S.C. 2071 is pretty clear about this, just sayin’ it doesn’t matter that some archivist taped the papers back together, essentially they are property of the United States. This was also the act that the GOP cited when they were going after Hillary for “BUT HER EMAILS!!1!” The code doesn’t care about birthday greetings from Chelsea, but it does care about sensitive memos.

You know, Al Capone wasn’t convicted for the crimes he committed as a mobster, but for failing to pay income tax on his ill-gotten gains. I don’t know if destroying records is analogous, but I’ll take it. LOCK HIM UP!

Has anyone inventoried the silverware, bedsheets, bath towels, and display of gifts from other countries received over the past 200+ years?

I love the Al Capone analogies. It is one of the few hopes I have left concerning TFG. Surely somebody is willing to arrest and prosecute this want-to-be mobster.
Of course, he took everything not nailed down and I’m sure some that was. Remember his theft of art copies from the Ambassador’s place in England?
I would have loved to see the hubbub when they showed up at Merde Lago to pick up the stuff. I can’t help but wonder also, how much stuff he outright destroyed like the petulant child that he is. He must have known that tearing certain documents wouldn’t be enough. But then he doesn’t read so we have that going for us. I wonder who instructed him in which things to tear up?
I am so looking forward to whatever we may learn about TFG and his criminality. I only hope he gets a decent sentence in prison, even if it’s for document shredding or tax evasion.

Stole ’em to sell ’em. Would’ve gotten away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids.

Ladies and gentlemen, behold the undisputed head of the Republican party.
