Twizzler Takes the Fifth, 500 of ’em, Actually

H/T Scissorhead Dennis Cole

We didn’t know Twizzler could count that high:

Former President Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 500 times over the course of a six-hour deposition to avoid answering questions as part of New York Attorney General Letitia James’ ongoing civil probe of the Trump Organization.

We are reminded that his old man once said

As Trump’s own remarks have made plain, any effort to elude Mueller, including by pleading the Fifth, could have political repercussions. “If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment,” Trump said as a candidate in 2016, complaining about aides to his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, who faced inquires over the use of a private email service when she was secretary of state.

“The mob takes the Fifth,” Trump declared.

You may recall that the January 6 Committee investigating the Stupid Coup has Twizzler’s phone records and has subpoena’ed him as well as Junior Mints’ emotional support cougar Kimberly Guilfoyle, so things are heating up.

So what’s the over/under that Hair Füror will take the Fifth when he is called in to James’ office? We want to make sure we have the betting window open and quatloos ready. I expect the First Shady Ivanka will be the one to turn on the rest of them like a rat in a drain. And remember this: this is a civil suit, but James can convert it to a criminal case for cause.

I would encourage them to share their Fifth’s. I would much rather see a criminal case than a civil one.

During testimony in September 2020, Weisselberg “invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination to more than 500 questions over five-and-a-half hours,” according to the filing. – WaPo 1/19/22

That they are guilty is a fair given, and one that they wear as a badge of courage – even in their public appearances. This is so because they know, with great confidence, that the system is rigged in their favor, and always will be.

In a life full of lies and crimes, not one has cost him so much as an hour of sleep.

TFG will perjure himself. Can’t help it, he lies like he breathes.

And besides, claiming the Fifth will probably end his 2024 grift.
