What a Coinkydink!

Here Lies American Democracy

Guys, the story of the fake electoral college certificates is getting bigger: there are now seven (7!) states that sent fake certificates:

The fake certificates were created by Trump allies in Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada and New Mexico, who sought to replace valid presidential electors from their states with a pro-Trump slate, according to documents obtained by American Oversight.

“Why is this significant, “you ask.

…Installing slates of “alternate electors” was an integral part of the ill-fated plan conceived by Trump allies to usurp power on January 6 by pressuring Vice President Mike Pence to throw out the pro-Biden electors that had been chosen by voters. The idea was promoted by Trump advisers inside and outside the White House, including controversial right-wing lawyer John Eastman.

Eastman, who has been subpoenaed by the January 6 committee, authored a memo outlining a six-step plan for Pence to overturn the election and award Trump a second term. The plan included throwing out results from seven states because they allegedly had competing electors.

Of course, these were NOT competing electors, these certificates were bogus from the get-go made up by fans of Hair Füror at random… or were they?

So this is either a really weird, 7-state coinkydink, or somehow these sovereign citizens coordinated? Hard to say!

All the same style, all the same typeface? Sure, totally random, no conspiracy to commit fraud. A prosecutor on her/his first case out of law school would have a hard time losing this one.

Apparently, TFG’s former Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, thought (and communicated in writing) that he thought this was a tremendous idea, and said he had put together a team of staffers to get it done. This investigation is just getting going. While I wouldn’t expect Republican controlled States to investigate or prosecute what is a crime in 50 states, it’s also a serious Federal felony. One of the signers of the bogus Michigan certification was caught by a reporter and defended his actions as basically them operating on “alternative facts.” He’s also been tied to hiring a bunch of teens to staff a troll fam that posted wing-nut memes and similar garbage on various social media platforms. That may be one reason the January 6th committee just sent out requests to appear to several social media companies.
