Dying To Own The Libs

Remember when people were quitting their unsafe jobs because their employers were not taking the Pandemic seriously and square-state Republican Governors responded by cutting the Covid Relief funds for them, hoping to drive them back to minimum wage death traps, because who will cry for Corporate America?

Seems that Republicans a change of plans! Republicans are now paying people to quit their jobs over their vaccination status:

Workers who quit or are fired for cause — including for defying company policy — are generally ineligible for jobless benefits. But Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Kansas and Tennessee have carved out exceptions for those who won’t submit to the multi-shot coronavirus vaccine regimens that many companies now require. Similar ideas have been floated in Wyoming, Wisconsin and Missouri.

Critics contend that these states are incentivizing people to skip shots that public health experts say offer the best line of defense against the coronavirus. Business leaders and industry groups have argued against the rule changes because, they say, companies would shoulder much of the costs. And the efforts are playing out as the Biden administration is pressing immunization rules for private companies and as coronavirus cases are surging again because of the fast-spreading omicron variant.

Shorter Republican policy: we’ll pay you to kill yourselves to own the libs.

This road they have chosen can only lead to universal healthcare for the unvaccinated. “Let’s go, COVID”

My favorite George Orwell quote, “The further a society drifts away from the truth, the more it will hate the people who speak it.” Sounds apropos, particularly in red states, but like the Big Lie, the misinfo about Covid has takes root in fertile soil wherever it finds it……

Heads up (but not too far up, and don’t touch the bird poo), there’s an outbreak of bird flu reported in the Galilee. Does it sound inconsequential? Welp, apparently the Galilee is a rest stop in bird migrations that stretch from south Africa to northern Europe, so this could be interesting.
(of course the comments here range from “another gov’t conspiracy!!!!!!” to “Oh, could you idiots just shut up, already!”)
