Coup’ve Got Fail

Laura Ingraham Salutes Hair Furer Donald Trump

The text messages that Fox New ‘Personalities’ (let’s face it, they are not journalists) sent to Luck #4 Mark Meadows remain in the front of my thoughts. You see, it proves what we’ve said since this blog was founded: Fox is absolutely, 100% in the bag for the Republican Party. “Fair and balanced” my pretty pink ass—even they cannot say it with a straight face, so they dropped the slogan.

The text messages make 2 things very clear: 1) Hair Füror knew about the riot and we know when he goddamn knew it and B) The apparatchiks at Fox/Newsmax/OAN/etc. knew it too and claiming that the insurrectionists were just madcap tourists is utter, gaslighting merde. They must think their viewers are as dumb as we think their viewers are.

To review:

  • Brian Kilmeade (Petunia & Pals): “Please get him on tv. Destroying everything you have accomplished.”
  • Sean Hannity: “Can he make a statement? … Ask people to leave the Capitol”
  • Laura Ingraham: “Hey Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home … this is hurting all of us … he is destroying his legacy”

And the Ingraham one in particular as later that night…

Rolling Stone reports that Dustin Stockton and Jennifer Lawrence —two organizers of the Stupid Coup— will be turning over documents and records to the House Committee, and naming Republican officials who are involved.

I can hardly wait. The Betting Window is open if you want to wager who some of those Republicans are.

Or is it the Republican Party is 100% in the bag for Fox??

Or is Fox just the actual comms wing of the Republican Party?

Was an early fan of Dr. Strangelove. Saw in a movie theater when I turned sixteen. It didn’t end well, but TFG’s stupid coup won’t end well either. I’m hoping the ending is just in the metaphorical frame of mind, excepting nuking the Quers (GOP) in the same metaphorical way would be welcomed…

Mo Brooks for sure, Boebert likely, and Madge, well, do we know that she knows how to use a phone?

In the Senate: I’m not so sure about Cruz; but I would bet on Hawley.
