CNN Fires Chris Cuomo

Breaking CNN!

It couldn’t happen soon enough.

File his career under nepotism. It’s not that different from hiring Meghan McCain at The View.

And Fox Noise still employs Mr. Carlson, et. al. Some “ethics” are more ethical than others.

Don’t hire failsons for positions of authority, ever. We should have learned this with Dubya.

When I first saw that Chris Cuomo had a show on CNN I thought, hum, what a coinkydink: his brother is the governor. He also seemed youthful and brash, with a left view of politics but also rather histrionic, too much for his own good, shall we say.

A smart Chris Cuomo would have realized that his media commentator role meant he could never comment on-air or publicly about his brother on any subject, never more so than when the sexual harassment claims hit the fan. An even smarter Chris Cuomo would have realized that he could do nothing behind the scenes to help Andrew, who is, ah, old enough to take care of “his own affairs.”

Apparently, Chris isn’t that smart. If, in addition to his behind-the-scenes “help,” he also engaged in some of the same “pursuits” at CNN — they mention “other matters” that led to his termination — then he shows as much judgment as Andrew did.

Of course, I’m a guy, and I am one who is attracted to women. But employers have strict anti-harassment and gender-discrimination rules in the workplace because such acts are illegal and cost a lot of money. And some even have strict “prophylactic” (is too an acceptable use of the word!) non-fraternization policies so that even if a consensual romantic relationship arises in the workplace, a disclosure to management must be made and one of the two employees has to leave the company, if not both.

Any person who cannot control his/her libido in such an environment is, literally, a fucking idiot who lacks the judgment to perform his/her job.
