News That Will Drive You To Drink

Happy Hour News

Hey guys, remember the other day when we inadvertently learned that Hair Füror was semi-literate and was writing captions (“Some of them by hand!” according to Junior Mints) for pictures someone else took to release as a coffee table book?

It seems he isn’t done with the book world yet, if there’s a buck to grift:

Allies of former President Donald Trump are trying to rip up the traditional book publishing paradigm in politics by setting up a publishing house of their own. And they have the ex-president helping them do it.

Trump announced last week that he was publishing a coffee table book of photographs from his time in the White House — just ahead of the holiday gift rush — with Winning Team Publishing. The outfit is a new imprint with a decidedly MAGA flavor, run by former Trump campaign aide Sergio Gor and Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr.

As you may recall the big publishers are staying miles away from Hair Füror, not just because he’s toxic (and smells like a loaded diaper), but …

Trump has not yet written a post-presidential memoir. And part of the reason, sources in the industry say, is that some of the major publishing houses have recoiled at the prospect of having to fact-check his work or the social backlash that would ensue.

So, back to that coffee table book: so how much is fleecing the rubes for, anyway?

The book, titled “Our Journey Together,” was marketed at $74.99, or $229.99 for a signed copy. But despite the high price tag, Gor said they already have exceeded sales of 70,000 copies in the first week of the preorder.

“The sheep —big strong sheep, I can tell you that— come up to me with tears in their eyes and beg, ‘Sir, will you please sign this for me.'”

I sure hope these artful deal makers who are looking at the dollar signs take into consideration all of the copyright infringement lawsuits that are sure to follow. Also, we now know one of the unknown knowns that have been hanging out there. TFG’s autograph is worth $155.

Covfefe table, you mean. And even if it’s just a couple hundred captions, fact-checking them — not to mention reviewing them for spelling mistakes and outright libel — will still be a big job.

Anybody know who took the pictures he’s peddling? Was it by any chance the official White House photographer whose salary we paid?

Give the grift of trump this holiday season.
