Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) has been doing
the hallway gossip correlation so we don’t have to:
Donald Trump’s favorite in the Alabama Senate race is treading water. His pick in Pennsylvania just bowed out of the GOP primary after losing custody of his children. In Alaska and North Carolina, two other Trump-endorsed Senate candidates are behind in primary election polls.
Tiger Beat helpfully left out the bit about wife beating and child abuse for the PA candidate, but you do you, Politico. We turn our attention to specific races, starting with Alabama:
In Alabama, where Trump remains extremely popular, Rep. Mo Brooks has struggled despite Trump’s endorsement. Brooks, a veteran congressman who lost in a 2017 Senate primary bid, has raised less than half of the $3.7 million his primary opponent Katie Britt has received. Britt has also earned the endorsement of the state’s largest farm organization, the Alabama Farmers Federation — a group that represents one of Trump’s key constituencies.
Yes, that would be the same Mo Brooks who wore the latest bullet-proof couture before he addressed the Stupid Coup-ers.
We move to Alaska, where notorious write-in candidate with the funny name is mopping the floor with Hair Füror’s hand-picked, would-be vengeance replacement:
Despite Trump’s endorsement of Kelly Tshibaka, the former commissioner of the state’s Department of Administration, Murkowski has jumped to a 20-point lead in the raceand has more than 10 times the amount of cash on hand.
And in the Gret Stet of North Carolina, Republicans would rather have the infamous bathroom ban guy than Hair Füror’s hand-selected MAGAt:
In North Carolina, 52 percent of Republicans last month said the former president’s preference would make no difference in who they support, according to a Public Opinion Strategies poll conducted for Pat McCrory, the former governor whose opponent, Rep. Ted Budd, has the Trump endorsement.
And Politico’s reporting goes on from there. Unbelievably, Hair Füror is endorsing down-ballot, local candidates, who have helped him spread The Big Lie, and who presumably would be down for throwing out votes in 2024.
