January 6 Committee Is Taking No Prisoners

H/T Scissorhead Skinny-D

This is really top-notch hardball: The January 6 Committee has posted, in public the letters that they have sent to another tranche of subpoena’ed witnesses (I think that there are now about 20?):

Chairman Thompson issued the following statement:

“The Select Committee wants to learn every detail of what went on in the White House on January 6th and in the days beforehand. We need to know precisely what role the former President and his aides played in efforts to stop the counting of the electoral votes and if they were in touch with anyone outside the White House attempting to overturn the outcome of the election. We believe the witnesses subpoenaed today have relevant information and we expect them to comply fully with the Select Committee’s investigation as we work to get answers for the American people, make recommendations on changes to the law to protect our democracy, and help ensure that nothing like January 6th ever happens again.”

The Select Committee issued subpoenas for records and testimony to the following individuals:

  1. Literally, yes, they’re taking NO prisoners. Crimes are being committed in plain sight in front of the cameras and fuck-all is happening to the criminals.

Merrick “Toothless” Garland and the trumpian, white supremacist-riddled DOJ will ensure that happens. You could be guaran-damn-teed that if the January 6th insurrection had been committed by BLM protesters, one, there would have been a hundred or more dead protesters, and hundreds more wounded, and the prosecutors would be asking for 25-life and the death penalty instead of misdemeanor trespassing charges.

    Structural racism in action.

It’s part of the reason why the judge in the Rittenhouse murder case will not allow the prosecution to use a loaded term like ‘victim’ when describing the two BLM protesters that Kyle murdered when he travelled across state lines to fulfill his blood lust to be a ‘hero.’

This simply means the 5th amendment calls shotgun and the 2nd takes the back seat for a while. Happens all the time.
