Breaking CNN!
Eric Boehlert has an on-point observation:
Pretty obvious fail on CNN’s part, n’est-ce pas?
Much/most of the angry parents storming school board meetings was performance art, I think we know that, but it is inexcusable that McAuliffe didn’t have a counterposition to argue about Critical Race Theory.
I’m not saying that he could convince the Fox News watching, Facebook Rage Uncles that the kiddies were not learning CRT (that brainwashing is not going to be undone), but he could have defined it and labeled his opponent’s position as racist (fact check: TRUE)
“We want our kids to learn about the Civil Rights Movement and Martin Luther King, and why it is important. Don’t you?”
And I would have demand candidate Youngkin to respond to that. Anyway, I think that is one way to deal with this when the GOP takes this strategy national: 1) force them to admit they are fighting in favor of racism and B) force them to define what CRT is.
CNN AKA Fox Lite
As best I can tell, based on the TV ads (I live in the TV market but not in VA), Youngkin ran on fixing stuff that ain’t broke. And dog whistles, lots of dog whistles.

Yeh, they were pretty loud.
When Trump was elected, those dog whistles did indeed become foghorns.
He kicked over the rock and let the slime out.

At our ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) breakfast this morning, we agreed that Critical Race Theory evolved from the Forced Busing and Affirmative Action battles of the 70s and 80s.
As Charles Pierce says, It’s not about race. It’s never about race.

The way to deal with this is ban fascist broadcasting.
Like cigarette ads are banned in broadcast (precedent of prior restraint).
Ban for same reasons cigarettes banned:
1.) The product (powerlust) is addictive.
2.) The product is a public health hazard; (public mental health hazard, regarding fascist content.
FUX News and all Rash Lamebrain radio descendants may continue producing their barbaric content on the Internet, in podcasts e.g.
On the internet each member of the audience leaves a data trail and indicts themself when they go to the fascist website(s) to get their dosage of dumbdown.
(The lawlessness of broadcasting is in that the audience is anonymous–civil order knows not who are addicted.)

Good luck getting a conservative to admit to or define anything. Nothing is ever their fault and redefining the meaning of words is their MO. But I’m sure you already knew that.

Reblogged this on Politicians Are Poody Heads and commented:
A big fail on CNN’s part. But also a fail on the Virginia (and other) Democrats part. The Democrats need to start fighting back- a lot.

That “roadmap” is how to use education myths to political advantage, not how to improve public education.
