  1. It was expected he’d do this, but he hasn’t a legal leg to stand on…it’s merely been a ‘norm’ that presidents extended executive privilege to their predecessors.

Also, you cannot use executive privilege to cover up crimes, any more than ‘attorney-client privilege’ can be. hell, that’s what got Roy Cohn in trouble, iirc.

Roy Cohn? If he were alive today (may his soul rust in hell) he would be totally in on the big lie…

He’s childlike in going against this legal principle or, more likely, so scared shitless that he’s throwing his own fecal matter against the wall. It won’t stick.

Someone should write a book. X-President Executive Privilege vs. the Presidential Records Act and How to Obstruct Congressional Committees for Dummies.

In case you haven’t read the article. Check out this quote:

“The fact is America is under assault by Pelosi’s Communist-style attempt to silence and destroy America First patriots through this hyper-partisan and illegitimate investigation.”

He’s a one trick pony. It is the only trick that has kept him out of poverty and jail.
And he’s our best liar as demonstrated by the sheer number of people who like to listen to him lie all the day long. Of course he really can’t stop himself, now he just lies out of reflex from all the practice he’s had.

So, OK, that’s really two tricks, but who’s counting. And when you add them up he turns out to be nothing more than a liar and a cheat, all the day loong.

TFG spent his entire (p)residency ignoring the norms. It’s funny how he suddenly thinks they should now be followed precisely.
