The War on X-Mas Started Early This Year

Let’s see if I got this straight: the generations-long off-shoring and gutting of US manufacturing, followed by a global pandemic that has shutdown  said off-shore manufacturing, shipping lanes clogged with ships that cannot port also because of pandemic related concerns, and now back-ups of ships (I’ve read that in Long Beach alone, the back-up is 100 ships deep) is President Handsome Joe Biden’s fault because he inherited this situation, and unfettered US Capitalism is blaming him for not controlling distribution like a Marxist.

Got it.

When our flyswatter plant moved to Mexico, they took their machinery with them. When our glove factory moved to China, they took their machinery with them. And, now, here we are.

Yes, because obviously it’s Biden’s fault that for decades corporate executives with the IQ of a pile of dogshit have been moving manufacturing to communist gangster states with cheap labor and making us dependent on fragile supply chains stretching halfway around the planet, instead of paying American workers properly and keeping the factories here, while Republicans threw a fit every time somebody suggested changing the tax code to discourage doing that. Now that the global Rube Goldberg machine has finally jammed and seized up, they’ll do anything to distract the voters from the only viable solution — bring the factories home. Japan is already doing it. Biden is at least talking about it. Too bad the average wingnut voter couldn’t even begin to grasp the real nature of the problem.

Then they blame NAFTA, OSHA and Unions for “driving all the industry away”

They simultaneously want to be paid more, make stuff here in the USA and pay Wal-mart prices for shit.

It’s the age-old engineering mantra: ‘Fast, cheap, good: pick any two’

(side note: Industrial output of the US as a fraction of GDP has risen steadily since the 1970’s; while industrial employment has plummeted. Meanwhile we wage political warfare over ‘gud coal jerbs’ in an industry where employment has been falling since the 1920’s )
