Oh, Jeebus, now I understand why my Driver Ed teacher retired when he learned I would be the 4th ‘Grain he would teach.
(True story, he did retire.)
Hah! I’m in love!

My Drivers Training teacher was cool, with 3 students in the car, he had me drive last as I could get us back to school in time for the next period. (true story)
He was also a bit clueless, as he would cover the rear view mirror to see how alert we were, and ask “what color is that blue car behind us?”. (also true story)
I learned to drive the old-fashioned way. My dad taught me. We drove an old Peugeot standard tranny with four forward gears on the column. Dad didn’t believe in having me take drivers ed until someone told him he could save a few bucks because I attended a formal program. So I took the class already knowing how to drive. The driving instructor got a little irritated when I showed him how to drive narrow car filled streets without crashing into anything, and again when I steered one-handed, but he passed me anyway. Not sure that I learned anything new though, I was a good driver…
