The Morning Quote

Birds of a feather, amirite?

“Our culture is being destroyed and our history and heritage, both good and bad, are being extinguished by the Radical Left, and we can’t let that happen! If only we had Robert E. Lee to command our troops in Afghanistan, that disaster would have ended in a complete and total victory many years ago. What an embarrassment we are suffering because we don’t have the genius of a Robert E. Lee!”

Yeah, Lee literally lost his ass and his war, and surrendered.

And even in his own context he wasn’t that good. He was good on defense in a war where there was huge advantage to being the defender in a battle. When he attacked, he lost. So, you know, genius general.

I will note that Grant pretty much attacked for the entire war. Kicked ass in the west then went east and kicked Lee’s ass.

Robert E Lee was a Democrat. They’ll have to stop comparing 21st Century Democrats to 19th Century Democrats if they choose to continue on this low road.

I hate to tell the Bloated Yam, but Robert E. Lee was not only a traitor and a loser, he was a lousy general.

Terrible staff work, couldn’t handle logistics, only one offensive strategy (attack up behind the mountains and burst out in Maryland (Antietam) or Pennsylvania (Gettysburg), both losing causes, a defensive strategy that bled away his army at Petersburg and Richmond, and over-reliance on Stonewall Jackson and Pete Longstreet.

Fort Lee should be named for Ulysses S. Grant. Greatest strategist the US Army ever had, founded modern warfare, and was loyal to the Union.

In 2016 I doubt if newly installed acting president Lord Damp Nut could’ve identified who Robert E.Lee was much less his relative qualities as a General. Here we are in 2021, after endless hand-wringing by the Right over statues of traitors, and I’m sure the Damp Nut couldn’t tell you the name of a single battlefield where said “Greatest General” lead his army or just what qualities might qualify General Lee as the “greatest ever”, well, other than that he was a traitor. And to suggest ANY commander could’ve changed the outcome of events in Afghanistan tells you how completely F’ing clueless this bastard, and his idiotic followers, really are.
