Meghan McCain: Middle East Scholar

(H/T Politico morning email thingie July 2 2021)

Hey guys, did you know that Meghan McCain is the late Grandpa Walnuts’ daughter? It seems that while inheriting Mommy’s Eyes and Daddy’s Thighs, she also inherited his foreign policy chops:

She continues to flog the family brand:

And then she proves that she is Grandpa Walnuts’ little squirt by getting the dynamics so completely, laughably wrong, just as her idiot father always did:

ISIS and the Taliban hate each other.

Nepotism Exhibit A, Soyblo had just concluded her 4-year hosting reign of terror on ABC’s The View last week. For every media job our favorite booze heiress inhabits, an actual journalist’s career stalls. Every seat she sits in belongs to someone who did the work and never got the break.

But you know, she’s John McCain’s daughter. She just proved it again.

We spent way too many years there. I get why we went in light of 911, but the former former guy had the chance to take Bin Laden out and didn’t. I have suspicions as to why. The Bushes and Bin Ladens were long time business partners (Arbusto Energy) and were friends as well. And American forces had trapped Osama, but then resources were pulled out of Afghanistan because of better targets in Iraq (how well did that work out?). We had to wait until a Democrat was in the Oval Office before Osama was killed…

Funny how crash mccain’s sperm donation totally omits that it was actually fat nixon’s grifting advisors under the direction of SOS pompeo who agreed to a withdrawal of troops, not biden, who will unfortunately be blamed regardless of the outcome. It’s not unsurprising that as a morally bankrupt republican, crash mccain’s sperm donation fails to understand from history which is that Afghanistan has been and will forever be the graveyard of empires and a land of tribal conflicts.

Yes her dad would be raging in public. He would be raging in public along with his other two amigos, Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman. You know, kabuki theater.

    Howdy y’all!

Maybe we coulda planned on getting the interpreters and other support personnel out. I’ll give the critics that one. But, this ending was sealed from day one. Who didn’t see a quick fall to a resurgent Taliban coming? The corruption of Afghans who aren’t the Taliban guaranteed it.

Hello Jack. The short paragraph at this link explains who the Taliban are and how they are like our religious right in the US. Hugs

        Howdy Scottie!

Thank you for the link. Very impressive editorial cartoon. I don’t think that people in the West really understand what life is like in developing countries and what a group like the Taliban does in the communities they control. True, they enforce their rules, and often quite brutally by our standards, but they also provide services and protection from other warlords and other groups.

It would have been nice if we could’ve built a secular thriving democracy in Afghanistan, but the main stumbling block was the tradition of corruption in the elites of the society. The money acquired by corruption trickles down to their supporters. There is a patronage system. The Taliban have a particularly strong system.

It is another stunning victory for Chimpy McStagger and the rest of the neocons.

You cannot make a nation in your image where none existed. You cannot make a nation out of will power.

Especially, if you never had any will power to begin with. Just like the Wizard of Oz couldn’t make an alternate reality for Dorothy, Dubya couldn’t make a nation out of a distraction. All that nation building wasn’t done for the Afghans, it was done for us. After Dubya, they were all afraid of another Viet Nam. Easier to push the decision off to the next person in office than actually do anything.

The 20 Years War concludes. Similar to the 30 Years War, everything memorable happened during the first half, and the second half was sporadic fighting but interminable destruction.

I am reminded of that much-abused cliche “we fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them here”, well I think we are fighting them here in a sense – the very Talibanesque GQP.
