About Last Night…

(Hat tip: Scissorhead Karla)

Shontel Brown won her primary against Nina Turner in a D+30 district. Once again we see that all politics are local with Democrats. As much as I would love to see a wave of progressive candidates win across the country, Democratic candidates reflect their districts. Middle America is not where AOC and Bernie Sanders have much sway, even in a D+30 district. This is how democracy works.

(And on a side-note, we’ll add that progressive Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) and the Justice Dems pretty much scored the most significant victory of the day successfully pressuring the White House to extend the eviction moratorium. She’s a hero!)

Hair Füror-endorsed coal lobbyist Mike Carey won the primary in a R+11 district. And we see that all politics are national with Republicans. Hair Füror tells Possum Hollar what to do, and they do it without question. Six months ago, Carey was unknown and running against some well-known candidates. This is how fascism works.

The impact of the Carey win essentially means that Hair Füror will remain viable as an influencer in Republican politics for a while.

Ehhhh, not so local, and not so Democratic

I cannot find it now, but I saw a chart earlier showing the spending by DMFI dwarfed all other outside spending by multiple orders of magnitude.
