The ancient song of his people.
(Hat tip: Scissorhead Jimmy-T)
many years ago, I lived in a small collection of duplexes, the back yards of four would meet up in the middle, and my dogs and their pals in the other three yards would gather together in the four corners to sing at the sirens as they went by.
It was definitely their communal thing in that place and time, because when we moved away our two didn’t howl at the sirens any more.’

There was a time in my hippy daze I would have joined them. Not saying I was stoned a lot (although), but I had read the Allen Ginsberg book (no relation to Notorious Dog rest her essence)…
I’m having so much fun playing this at high volume in my upstairs home office, while my dogs downstairs join in harmoniously for the chorus. My wife’s not amused.

My dogs bark at videos with doorbells and people knocking. Oddly enough, my wife is mot amused either.
I’ve been doing that, too. Our doggy is very concerned, but not concerned enough to join in. She has a very soft, quiet howl, used only during the Monday weather siren tests. DH thinks it’s all pretty awesome.
