Sen. Marsha Blackburn continues to grunt at popular performer Taylor Swift, as she is interviewed by Pravda, er, Breitbart:
For the record, Swift has accurately described Blackburn as “Trump in a wig,” which if it were not so accurate I guess one could think of it as libel.
She forgot to mention:
if we have a “THEOCRATIC or FASCIST govt,” the state would have to “approve her music,” and won’t “allow women to dress, or sing, to be on stage, or entertain (or vote) either.

Well, yeah, but if it’s theocratic or fascist, it’s OK.

I love it when politicians pick fights with public entertainers/stars. It never ends well for the Pol and yields some comedy gold in the meantime.

Once again they demonstrate that they can’t tell the difference between socialist and communist. Taylor Swift has undoubtedly performed in many socialist countries, since Canada and western Europe qualify. It’s only the wingnuts, who, as soon as anyone starts asking for policies similar to Denmark or the Netherlands, immediately start yammering about Venezuela and the Gulag.
In fact, not even the USSR completely banned pop music. As Sirius points out, it’s actual theocracies like Iran where people get arrested and jailed for singing. And it’s people like Blackburn who are always ranting about the entertainment industry being “dirty” and subversive. We know they’d slap controls on it if they could.

Hmm. I may have to change my mind about T. Swift.

Yes. Definitely coming across as “No, I won’t put up with this bullshit any more”, sweet smile with a deft shiv at the ready attitude.

Like the person, love the political attitude. Really just can’t with her music, even an auto-tune master sounds auto-tuned.

Schlafly award contender Blackburn says, to the camera, “watch out, honey, when I’m in charge of our restrictive government women won’t be able to work, except me, of course. I’ll be running the show.”
Seriously – this wasn’t a warning, it was a threat.

She’s speaking to her fellow theocratic dimwit ‘interviewer’ like she’s his Sunday School teacher. It’s nice to see in this lesson that ‘socialists’ only ‘cut off’ the non-conformists, whatever that means, rather that condemning them to eternal damnation in a lake of fire for their ‘sins’.

Picking a fight over the true meaning of socialism with the Pat Boone of Millennials?
I guess the antiquated senate’s female Ted Cruz grew tired of using the stale lies about Planned Parenthood selling aborted baby parts to scare the rubes. Theatre of the absurd.

Yes, as we all know the Swedish socialist government rigidly controlled ABBA’s music, made them slaves to the Proletariat.
