The Stupid Coup As Told By The Stupid Coupers Themselves

This tweet did not get the traction it deserved, so it is our midday entertainment:

There are hundreds of short videos, organized by timeline and in 3 major categories (Around DC, near the capitol and then once inside). It’s  pretty rough to watch (especially inside the Capitol and lord knows I was just randomly dipping in my toe) , but it dispels all the BS about a merry tourist romp.

  1. You know, not gonna watch that.

I watched some of CNN’s special on the coup attempt, where they interviewed some of Pelosi’s staffers who were hiding in a locked conference room, as CNN played the audio of the “tourists” roaming the halls calling out for “Nanceeeee! Oh Nanceeeeee! Come out and Play, Nancy!” like they’re some third-rate Joker cosplayers and it made me want to pick up a baseball bat and beat the next MAGAT I saw into a greasy spot on the pavement.

That’s why studying Mob Psychology is so difficult – you have to observe it, and not get immersed, either in person, (no way, José!) or even just watching these vids, and it’s almost impossible to ignore the chaos and frenetic energy, to examine the underlying causes.

It seems to just build and build, like a magma pocket, until the pressure demands release, and it does resemble a volcanic eruption in many ways.

It’s like the mob becomes an addict and it’s always “one is too many and a million is not enough” and they won’t stop until they find…

I was at home trying to watch my soap (of course;) I kept the coverage on because it seemed important and I was certain the uprising would be quelled once the barricade was breached. How wrong I was. It was traumatic enough just watching what CBS showed during and after, and then what we’ve seen since. I don’t know if I’ll watch very much of ProPublica’s trove, but I’m glad they do the vital work they do!

  4. Ron Johnson should be forced to watch it with his eyes crank open, Clockwork Orange style.

    • Along with every Republican who didn’t vote to impeach or convict TFG the second time. And set the soundtrack to “The Star-Spangled Banner” so like Alex and Beethoven they become physically ill when listening to the national anthem.

Then berate them about not standing for it.

(Yes, this shit really brings out the sadist in me, I wan’t much kidding about the baseball bat and greasy spot…the excerpts they played on CNN were chilling.)
