One possible twist on Arizona’s new voter supression laws is referring mis-matched absentee ballot signatures to the State AG for prosecution, based on nothing more than the whim of the voting official doing the match. I signed my current voter registration application 30 years ago. My mom probably signed hers 60 years ago. Are there differences?
I don’t think this part has passed (it’s one of the myriad of republiscum attachments to the state budget) and don’t think it’ll survive court scrutiny, but it sure as hell would keep people’s votes from being counted!

A not insignificant percentage of the population believes this bullshit and is prepared to act on it. 1/6 was just the practice run. Just think what happens the next time around if they have even a marginally more competent leader. You know that DeSantis has his eye on becoming the new Orange Messiah. He’s just waiting for the former guy to complete his self-immolation before grabbing for the brass ring.

The Trump Insurrection Riot had several hundred people attacking the capitol building and it’s been leaking information and the identities of the perpetrators like a rusty old sieve. It’s obvious this guy has never been a project leader in any organization whatsoever – how could an election be stolen by “…tens of thousands…” without leaving a trail of evidence a mile wide? Who does he plan to execute – every single poll worker in every voting district in the country?
