Charlottesville’s confederate statues coming down nearly four years after violent rally

(CNN)In a unanimous vote late Monday night, the Charlottesville City Council voted to remove two Confederate statues from the city’s public parks, almost four years after they served as a flashpoint for the violent “Unite the Right” rally that killed counterprotester Heather Heyer.

It took a while, but eventually America eventually gets there. And in the meanwhile:

That’s some great news. I lived in Virginia for three years as a child. Went to grade school in Norfolk where recess games at least for me and a bunch of other boys revolved around refighting the Civil War. Me and two or three other boys always were on the Union side, but were vastly outnumbered by the Confederate boys. Didn’t make much sense of it at the time, but upon much later reflection came to believe that racism and the crime of the “War of Northern Aggression” was so deeply implanted in Virginia’s DNA that change would be unlikely if not impossible. Good to see they’ve evolved…

  2. Unfortunately the Gang of The Traitors Rag is still trying to block the removal of the statue of The Traitor Lee because “muh hertige!!!”

They are literally claiming that the thing is to be ‘held sacred’.

(I have an interest in this because a good friend lives there…)

Too bad these idiots don’t worship their sperm as much as they do their statues. Sacred my ass.
