I was going along with this until the caffeine spider raised my suspicions.
I used to have a 4-part picture of those spiders’ webs.
The LSD spider was… trippy, man.
The THC spider looked about half done and then the spider apparently fell asleep and rappelled down to hang below the web.
The alcohol spider was a little random looking.
But the caffeine spider’s web was just a hot mess, like he went off in all directions at once.

I considered it a coffee joke.

When I was in third grade, my parents started a subscription to a series of books called the Life Science Library. One of the volumes was titled Drugs, and it had information on LSD, including the effect it had on spiders and their webs. The book was written before LSD was criminalized and was still the subject of legitimate research, and the drug was presented as having the potential as a useful psychotheraputic tool. By the time the book hit the market (1967), however, LSD was illegal and only used by dirty commie hippies.
