As Dinosaurs Thrashed in Tar, So Too Republicans…

…not see the extinction event ahead:

More interesting to me, though, was what came at the end of the poll. The pollster tried to figure out just what the base thinks its party should do now to help it win future elections. On this, the base was more split, but pretty remarkably so.

It provided them two options: focus on messaging to expand its appeal, or focus on changing voting rules to try to win with the voters it has.

Nearly half of Republicans — 47 percent — chose the latter option. Just 53 percent preferred a strategy more focused on the GOP’s message.

Why would they want to change being the party of old, white, Xristian, straight, cisgendered, misogynist, men when they can just outlaw anyone else from voting?

This just confirms everything we have been saying.

Seriously- WTF? They have always had an authoritarian bent- it’s why they are the party of “Law and Order” and “patriots”. But now- they are the enemy of democracy- if democracy means they will no longer hold power. They have always been that way- but now they are free to say that shit out loud. They are a danger to democracy and they will spill blood to stay in power. Liz Cheney isn’t wrong about where they are headed- the problem is, the rest of the people that vote GOP do not give a shit that they have become everything their fathers fought against.

Dinosaur libel!!! There is plenty of evidence that dinosaurs were (and in the case of birds, are) devoted parents. GOP assholes aren’t worthy of the comparison.

Funny how they use the phrase ‘big tent’; if you drive about half the people out of your tent – then your tent seems bigger.

As always, I am compelled to point out that Dinosauria was an exceptionally successful clade that ruled every ecological niche on the planet for over 200 million years. Their ancestors, those jerks, are still around today. I see Republicans being more like Oozlum Birds than dinosaurs.
