Yo, Michigan, Whaddup?

Lord, the nut jobs are everywhere:

Abortion, Nazi conspiracies derail Michigan GOP hearing on vaccine passports

LANSING — A hearing to pre-emptively ban governmental “vaccine passports” in Michigan devolved into the realm of conspiracy theory Wednesday, as activists welcomed by House Republicans spread doomsday claims about the national COVID-19 inoculation effort…

[author and activist Naomi Wolf] compared vaccine passport systems unveiled in New York and Israel to population separtion efforts in Nazi Germany. She suggested without evidence that smartphone apps developed by the government could be tweaked with artificial intelligence to read a person’s social media commentary and punish people for their personal politics.

Oh, noes! Your phone will know about your tweets that you sent from your phone! Uh…

“If you gather after this hearing with your friends in a bar to discuss opposition to the vaccine passport, your app will know who you’re meeting with because you’ll have to swipe a QR code,” Wolf warned.

OK, that’s enough for me. I wish that there was a vaccine passport, I wish that there was some sort of clearing house so everyone could know if their Facebook Rage Uncle was spitting Trump-Virus particles on them, but we don’t live in that world, there is no technology solution for passports, and even if there was, it would be hacked in a nanosecond and made useless.

Sounds good to me. If it will keep these quacks isolated and reduces their internet abuse, let them believe it.

I’m keeping and carrying when I travel in future, my two Pfizer cards I got on 9 and 30 March from Denton County Public Health in the drive-thru, 12 lines, no waiting setup they had in 9 huge tents they set up at Texas Motor Speedway in Ft Worth.
Why two cards? Because it was so fast in and out at each of three stations in each lane that taking the first card to stamp it would have slowed the lines down. In the final injection-hand me the card tent, I was there about 30 seconds. Texas may suck politically in many ways, but DCPH really had their act together.

I am overlooking a way to send a Scissorheads snarkworthy piece from my own area of Possum Hollar. It may not be worthy, but my DH said he thought I read it here when I told him. Since I’ve veered somewhat off-topic, the link is: http://www.sumnernewscow.com/sumner-county-republican-party-meeting-to-feature-former-representative-and-speaker-pro-tem-peggy-mast/ .
