Politico/Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Brother Pierce!) email thingie continues to breathless cover the saga of Blam-Blam’s little deferment —Liz Cheney— as if this “story” actually matters [It goes on for 18 paragraphs and is by far the most-covered item in their email thingie; I gave up counting the paragraphs in their OTHER morning gossip email thingie.]:
If we had a dollar for every time we’ve written about how the future of the Republican Party was about to be decided over some choice about loyalty to DONALD TRUMP … well, let’s just say we would be doing almost as well as if we had invested in dogecoin.
But the all-but-certain decision by House Republicans to oust Conference Chair LIZ CHENEY (R-Wyo.) looks like one of those historical hinge moments — a party solidifying around the idea of loyalty to a single person, one who is obsessed with repeating crackpot lies about election fraud, rather than to policy or ideas.
The Judgement of History awaits for the fate of the most important former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs in our nation’s history, maybe ever and Wyoming’s(!) only representative Liz Cheney! The fate of the nation comes down to the third-highest ranking person in the minority party from one of the least-populated states…
No. The real story is not about Liz Cheney, the real story is that the Republican Party is completely rudderless and has fallen over the edge of their flat earth, and for once the Republicans have no message discipline. And all of this is because they are afraid of the wrath of twice-impeached LOSER ex-prznint Stupid, who —by the way— has no way of sending mean tweets or posting screeds to Facebook anymore.
Anyway, our Failed Political Press ™ is again missing the most important story of our lifetimes: one of our two political parties is in complete free fall, a cult of personality and completely policy-free.
