‘Some Say,’ Some Said, ‘Something About 2024’

No d’uh:

Trump seen as likely to run in 2024; Facebook ban enrages GOP

Sources close to Donald Trump believe he’s increasingly likely to run in 2024 — and that was even before the Facebook Oversight Board inflamed conservatives by upholding the ban on the former president.

Why it matters: Trump and his inner circle view Facebook reinstatement as crucial to his political comeback. The independent Oversight Board’s decision, which gives the company six months to make a final determination, enraged Trumpworld.

And then Axios goes into the Facebook story and never returns to the 2024 Goat Rodeo story or anything about the sources. Insert your own Our Failed Political Press ™ rant here. But Axios, come’on, that headline wasn’t even worthy of Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) — they got nothing.

Related and probably should be cited in Axios’ reporting: Trump’s spell over the media broke once he lost his megaphones –

Social media interactions about former President Trump have fallen 91% since January, according to exclusive data from NewsWhip.

Why it matters: When Trump lost his social media accounts, he lost his once-immense power to put himself at the center of Americans’ attention.

But what you can read into the story is that without social media, he cannot run. He needs to harvest voter data and grift Possum Hollar and there just isn’t a better platform for getting Wingnuttia aligned and picking their pockets than Facebook. But you know, TFG has a blog now.

    Mostly I disbelieve 2-, 3-, 4-year projections for people over 70.
The former guy was born 1946, a Gemini Air sign not known for their longevity like Earth signs, say.

Manchin sorta ignores that he loses The 50th Vote leverage if 1 or 2 Teddy Roosevelt-era Republicans drop dead this Summer. He can abstain; Senate splits 49-49 and Kamala rules.

Given the former guy’s aversion to any kind of exercise and his Mickey D’s diet, he should have croaked 10 years ago. I blame those damned good genes which include Alzheimer’s.

      Come on, indictments!
