I got some good news from FL this morning: Alan Grayson is seriously studying and raising funds to run against Sen. Rubio in that Senate race. I’d been missing Alan Grayson.

Does Grayson have the savvy to reassure the populace that Obamacare is being replaced?
Just wait a few weeks, then report it has been replaced with the Affordable Care Act – it’s a work in progress, folks, we intend to improve it every session of congress.

That would be a great thing to ask him, if you’re interested in his campaign. Here’s a snippet of the email: ” We all need more fearless progressive champions in the Senate, like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Florida needs an advocate who will expand Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment benefits and public education. And Rubio the Robot needs to be sent home.
“My campaign will be the most important Senate campaign of this decade. WE will run a no-apologies movement for justice, equality, compassion and peace. WE will say what so badly needed to be said for the past five years: ‘We’re all in this together.'”
It’s along those lines; just sticking his toe in to see if the water’s warm.

OK, and I was sorta excited about Grayson, and took the initial question seriously, since we’re all liberal/progressive here. 😉 I get it now. Still, if a person’s interested, go for it.

        Huh?
I am kind of serious. I don’t even remember what the kerfuffle was that moved him out of politics, although it will probably be dragged back out of storage and amplified everywhere, so I’m not even gonna go look it up.
I do remember, though, his speeches about the health care available at the time and what he claimed the R’s wanted health care options to be, for the hoi polloi. Still seems pretty accurate, by the way.
I think my point is he was pretty quick on his feet (practice from lawyering?) but got blindsided from some right wing attack. I hope he has plans to deal with that dreck, because it will certainly come up. He’s way to quick on his feet for those goons, they will come up with some kompromat on him in order to avoid dealing with his competence. And “come up with” will include “make the whole thing up and spread it using the BS factories they have access to”. .

1st: I believe it was Rep. Grayson who did a poster or a white board in a hearing with the Republican health care plan: Die quickly. As to the scandal, we didn’t get a lot of it here, and I hate that because I didn’t know all of this I found here; https://www.orlandoweekly.com/orlando/alan-graysons-forthcoming-loss-couldnt-happen-to-a-more-deserving-man/Content?oid=2519291 . I guess we’ll see if he runs.

2nd: I meant I get it about replacing Obamacare with ACA; it just didn’t hit me until I posted my first reply.

Oh. Yeah, one of the funniest (saddest) things about the Tea Party vs. Affordable Care Act was how much better that was, according to the Tea Party, than Obamacare. I especially remember a man-on-the-street interview on some talk show where the woman on the street liked ACA a lot better than Obamacare and was very level headed about “well, now I look like an idiot. Thanks” No visible hostility at all. It amazed me.
So it might actually work and give us breathing room to move toward the No Pay at Point of Service model of medicine. Or a clever congress-tariat might just take the next step toward it rather than pull a fast one to calm people down about the current system.

BTW – yes, that was Grayson with the 2-part Republican health care plan.
        1-Don’t get sick.
2-If you do get sick, die quickly.
I appreciated his way of getting directly to his point.

I don’t know how to post videos or pix here but Calista looks like the Chicken Lady from Kids in the Hall. I am always reminded of it when I see her. I wonder how the Vatican liked her as ambassador.
