The terrible sand people of the terrible sand kingdom of Arizonastan.

Guys, big new from the Terrible Sand Kingdom of Arizonastan: Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is working to increase the minimum wage and her bipartisan co-conspirator is Willard! Who knew?

Anyway, let’s get the deets:

Mitt Romney And Kyrsten Sinema Team Up On Bipartisan Proposal To Increase Minimum Wage

Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) are in the process of crafting bipartisan legislation to increase the minimum wage, Romney confirmed to HuffPost on Wednesday…

Oooh, maybe Sinema isn’t as awful as we thought and… what’s that you say?

A $15 minimum wage doesn’t even have full support among Senate Democrats, including Sinema and Manchin. Manchin has repeatedly said he would favor something closer to $11 per hour phased in over two years. Other Democrats, such as Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, have expressed concerns about how a $15 minimum wage would affect the restaurant industry.

The minimum wage in the Terrible Sand Kingdom of Arizonstan is $12 Ameros.

Austerity! We must make cuts! DEEP cuts, but we all have to pull together on this – it affects ALL, er, many, many of us, we’ve all got to make some sacrifices…

(We’ll start with some goats, move on to human miscreants, if the goats don’t work; need not necessarily be virgins, as most malefactors aren’t.)

And that’s only because WeTheStinkyPipples passed a ballot measure to do it over the hysterical objections of the Lege and the plutocrats.

OK, first, I don’t think a change in the federal minimum wage would override any state or local laws, so the Arizona $12 minimum would remain in place. Second, $11 as a minimum sucks because it’s not $15, but then it’s not $7.25 either. Take the win and keep moving.

I came across a new word recently. Monopsony – “In the labour market, a monopsony occurs with one employer and many workers wanting to gain employment.”
Some of the bigger employers are preparing for minimum wage raise already. It kind of looks like they got tired of waiting. But with employers with enough employees across the U.S. of A. this Monopsony might influence a wage increase for a change.
Let me dream for a minute before you pop my bubble.

    Okay, carry on.
