Dominion files $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News
Dominion Voting Systems filed a defamation lawsuit on Friday seeking $1.6 billion in damages against Fox News, arguing that the network knowingly spread misinformation about the company’s role in nonexistent voter fraud.
Why it matters: This is the first time Dominion has sued a media company in its efforts to collect billions in damages from pro-Trump figures who have pushed baseless conspiracy theories about its voting machines.
- Dominion has previously sued Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, and the pro-Trump MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell. All have appeared as guests on Fox News.
- Smartmatic, another voting company baselessly accused of taking part in an international communist plot to rig the election for Joe Biden, filed a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox, some of the network’s top hosts, Giuliani, and Powell in February.
If my math is correct —always a shaky proposition— $1.7 B Ameros + 2.7B Ameros = $4.4B Ameros. And while Uncle Rupert is worth is around $20B Ameros. My guess is losing about a quarter of it over Lord Damp Nut was not really part of his 2021 plans.
Well, if it’s true that “Money talks,” Dominion is screaming into Rupert’s ears.

It’s going to be tricky for Dominion to fight FOX because they’ll scream for free speech all the way. But they claim to be a “news” outlet while they’re clearly propaganda for Republicans. I would love to see every lawsuit filed by Dominion win big, though. Hit these liars where it hurts: their bank accounts.

Yep, that was indeed their defense when Fucker Swanson-Boy was sued. But this one is going across their lineup, including alleged ‘news’ shows.

Faux Newz got away with their shenanigans by winning in court, with their claim that they don’t profess to be “merely” a news outlet. They somehow convinced the judge that they considered themslves an “Infotainment Delivery Service,” and not just a news-broadcasting service, and therefore can’t be held responsible for any inconsistencies, or for causing confusion amongst their, viewers, but they claimed they would never out-and-out lie to the public over the airways.
That, and a briefcase fulla cash helped convince the judge their argument was valid, and they were able to withstand any more challenges, and continue broadcasting.
