We should not be surprised that Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R – Confederacy) has a problem with the Black church traditional Souls to the Polls program of taking Black congregations from church to early Sunday voting, and so she has a theologic approach: ”
IT’S SACRILEGE, YOU HEATHENS! AND I HAVE A DOLLAR BILL TO PROVE IT!!1!”
Hyde-Smith is from Mississippi and she’s complaining about an ordinance in [checks notes] Georgia, cites the wrong verse of the Bible (when she probably means Exodus, which is taken verbatim from The Torah, and so, you know, the Sabbath is Saturday) and I guarantee you that bidnesses in Mississippi are open Saturday and Sunday.
So, you know, THAT’S NOT SCRIPTURAL.
Why are all the dogs barking?
