Line-Jumpers: Compare and Contrast

(H/T Scissorhead Dennis Cole)

There probably is a place in Hell (Merde-a-Lardo?) for people who jump in lines, but especially for people who cheat to become vaccinated ahead of their turn, leaving more vulnerable people to wait longer.

Anyway, we have two such stories of giving access ahead of turn, let’s compare and contrast:

Hospital Exec Resigns After Holding Vax Event at Trump Tower in Chicago

“Loretto Hospital’s Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Chief Operating Officer Dr. Anosh Ahmed in a unanimous vote Wednesday, according to a news release. Ahmed’s resignation came just hours after Block Club reported ineligible people who work at a steakhouse frequented by Ahmed were vaccinated early.

“Ahmed was heavily criticized after Block Club reported Loretto held a vaccination event at Trump Tower and after Ahmed told people he vaccinated millionaire Eric Trump. Ahmed — who later said he was joking about vaccinating Trump — owns a condo in Trump Tower and has told people he’s friends with Trump, who wouldn’t have been eligible for a vaccine in Chicago.”

The shameless got shamed? But he also got vaccinated, so maybe he won?

And Second:

Andrew Cuomo’s family members were given special access to covid testing, according to people familiar with the arrangement,

“As the coronavirus pandemic swept through New York early last year, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration arranged for his family members and other well-connected figures to have special access to state-administered coronavirus tests, dispatching a top state doctor and other state health officials to their homes, according to three people with direct knowledge of the effort.

“As part of the program, a state lab immediately processed the results of those who were tested, the people said, even as average New Yorkers were struggling to get tested in the early days of the pandemic due to a scarcity of resources. Initially, the lab was only capable of running several hundred tests a day for a state with 19 million residents. The use of state resources to benefit people close to the governor raises serious ethical questions, experts said. New York law prohibits state officials from using their position to secure privileges for themselves or others.”

OK, it was only testing so apples/oranges, but still! Anyone doubt that he made special arrangements for his friends and family for vaccines?

Cuomo is a jerk of the highest order. Come’on, NYers: it’s long-past time to kick him to the curb.

Wisconsin just expanded the eligibility list for vaccines. There is now a list of twenty medical conditions, any one of which qualifies anyone over sixteen to receive a shot. I have four of them. I get my first shot in one week.

  3. Gov. Il Deuce of TTSKOA has now said he’ll consider letting FEMA set up vaccination pods here in Pima County after initially turning it down. He had the state health director pass out some bullshit excuses and whereupon the Pima County supes sayd “well fuck you, then, we’ deal with FEMA ourselves; we already have the infrastructure needed.

He wanted FEMA to just give the state the vaccines so they could continue to dole them out on their schedule, which has consistently shorted Pima County (for bullshit reasons).

And we’re up to [checks notes] ~ 1 million fully vaccinated, which is 13% of the population.

So today Il Deuce said YOLO! opened everythign up, and prohibited cities from doing anything about it.

The Great God QOP-loch demands MOAR BLOOD SACRIFICE!
