Science Proves Red States Had Highest Trump-Virus Incidence and Death, for Freedumb

From the No-D’uh Files:

States with Republican governors had highest Covid incidence and death rates, study finds

States with Democratic governors had the highest incidence and death rates from Covid-19 in the first months of the coronavirus pandemic, but states with Republican governors surpassed those rates as the crisis dragged on, a study released Tuesday found.

“From March to early June, Republican-led states had lower Covid-19 incidence rates compared with Democratic-led states. On June 3, the association reversed, and Republican-led states had higher incidence,” the study by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Medical University of South Carolina showed.

“For death rates, Republican-led states had lower rates early in the pandemic, but higher rates from July 4 through mid-December,” the study found.

So what happened? why did the number switch? Oh, we coastal elites know!

The researchers theorized that one reason for the change is that Democrats were in charge of states where people who had the virus first arrived in the country — but Republicans were less stringent about safeguards, which could have contributed to their states’ ultimately higher incidence and death rates.

“The early trends could be explained by high Covid-19 cases and deaths among Democratic-led states that are home to initial ports of entry for the virus in early 2020,” the researchers wrote. “However, the subsequent reversal in trends, particularly with respect to testing, may reflect policy differences that could have facilitated the spread of the virus.”

That sounds about right. Places where people visit for pleasure/business were going to be the initial spots (Seattle was where the first cases were reported), but by about the time of Sturgess it was super-spreading in Possum Hollar, and SD Gov. Kristi Noem was happy to let it.

People didn’t bring the trump virus to red states. They brought it home from blue states. This would explain the timing you reference.

I read that article when it came out. You would think that a nominally functioning state government would have been motivated to protect their citizens against the ravages of the building pandemic, but apparently stupid flows from the red hat downwards. Trump did nothing to ameliorate the spread of Covid-19, and in fact pretended or lied about its severity when concentrated action would have made a difference in infection rates and death tolls. But no, he had to drag us all along with his incompetency…

    • Here in the TSKoA Il Deuce eventually ordered a shutdown and oh so graciously allowed the mayors of cities to enact mask requirements (Tucson, Phoneix and Flagstaff were the first three.

All three have Democratic women serving as mayor. Huh. Whatta weird coinkidink) but opened everything back up in May. By late June we had the highest infection rate in the country.

This is Stalinist farm collectivization-scale delusional thinking; the insistence, against all evidence and actual reality that the 5-Year Plan is working.

They all think that they can bend the pandemic to their will because FREEDUMB!!!11!!ELEVENTY!!.

They remain shackled to their delusional thinking. The normal diagnosis of this kind of behavior is ‘delusional disporder’.

It’s been reported that a little over 100k people died due to COVID during the period between the election and inauguration as fat nixon sulked over his loss and abdicated his responsibilities as POTUS. We should never forget the 500k who succumbed to the illness due to his incompetence, laziness & pettiness.

The former guy didn’t abdicate his responsibilities because he never took responsibility for it. He predicted the virus would disappear over 40 times in 2020. He also predicted we’d never hear another word about it after the election.

The former guy sucks out loud at predictions.

  3. The only reason NY had that huge surge in march was TFG’s braindead panic abiout shutting down travel from Yurp. Announced 5 days before it was to end, and without saying it didn’t apply to Americans coming home.

So we got a Europe-wide superspreader event that pretty much all came through NY and NJ.

Meanwhile they went ahead with mass events like Sturgis.
