Science Proves: The GQP Doesn’t Like Science

Conservative Science!

This is tragic though entirely predictable (emphasis mine):

Positive views of the effects of science on society have edged lower since the pandemic, driven by declining views among Republicans. Two-thirds of U.S. adults say the impact of science on society has been mostly positive, down 6 points from 73% who said this before the pandemic. The share of Republicans and Republican leaners who say the effect of science on society has been positive is down 13 points since 2019 (from 70% to 57%). Among Democrats and Democratic leaners, 78% see the impact of science positively, which is little different from the 77% who said this two years ago.

The poll is actually about opinions around the vaccine, so, you know, Social Darwinism in action.

Tragic? I’m past caring what happens to the wingnuts. If they reject science and vaccines, then yes, natural selection in action. The number for “our kind of people” hasn’t decreased.

We’ve gone backwards, from “better living through science'” to “ignorance is bliss.” Time to stock up on Darwin Awards. There is going to be run on those.

Consider this: ice can be described as a “rock,” using strictly geological terms & definitions. So, in its fluid state, does that mean it’s LAVA? Actually, it does, it’s just not Magma, which is rock in its molten state.

    Science can be scary!

Some say the world will end in fire, others say the world will end in ice. I say that either would suffice. Ok, I’m paraphrasing here. Seems that Digby’s Q-gelicals post gets quickly to the point (sourced from the Independent). What we’re facing is a merger between Q-anon and white conservative evangelicals. The violence we witnessed on 01/06 was just the beginning. Violence will increase pretty much because facts, evidence, and logic are beyond their comprehension. Our republic may be entering a death spiral…

Jimmy is not wrong here…When TFG was not convicted after his 2nd impeachment, Mr. B and I decided that America is over and have begun putting our exit strategy in place. Not because we don’t love this country- but because we don’t think we can win against the kind of depravity that has become the GQP. There are too many of them willing to kill the rest of us. And don’t kid yourself- it will come down to us and them.

Visitors from Pluto would probably describe Earth as mostly covered by molten ice lava.
