The Rigged QPAC Election Winner Is…

Trump wins CPAC straw poll with 55 percent

Former President Trump won the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll on Sunday, with 55 percent of respondents saying they would vote for him in a hypothetical 2024 primary.

FAKE NEWS!!1! It was 100%!!1!

OK, who dared come in second and third?

In the straw poll that demonstrated Trump’s continuing hold on the GOP, 21 percent said they’d vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and 4 percent said they’d go with South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R).

I expect we will soon hear nasty nicknames for his likely competition.

    • I’d expect him to rant and rave about how it must have been rigged, because he really won by 110%…

The Palmer Report says 55% is a weak number. It’s expected to drop as the indictments start rolling in.

Bwahaha! I looked that one up and found this quote regarding Trump’s relatively low prom vote –

This means the GOP has a real problem. It’s still focused on propping up Trump’s ghost, when so many voters – even on the Republican side of the fence – would rather move on to a new con artist instead.

This correlates to the revelation that many of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists did not vote. They’re only there for the fun of being an exhibitionist right wing asshole and hearing their star sing his same old tired hits.

Pretty certain DeSantis ran to the Orange Julius and begged forgiveness while groveling at his feet for being mentioned as competition.

I’d like to contribute to his 2024 campaign by offering Dodo DeSantis and Krazy Kristi or Nutso Noem. The competition for names is ON!

Josh Hawley is so effing hawt! All of us gaybos want to combine our gay forces and see if we can save him! It is not possible unfortunately. He sold out and turned to be what he is. Just another politician with a pretty face and a heart full of lies. Not a good person.
How do they do that? Why?

  8. 55% is so weak. And SAD. But also, QPAC is his base, and its they can’t rally, he is really no longer viable. He will be loud. But the shtick is played out. He is Andrew Dice Clay, really….

  9. the only thing QPAC responded to was conspiracy about stolen elections and that antifa is the source to everything they hate, including Sesame Street.

Ron DeSanitize is second only to Trump himself for covid-19-spreading denialism and general bad governance. He checks the hated-by-liberals box for those who want that but are tired of Trump for whatever reason.

Kristi Gnome is the hot-chick wingnut wankfuel du jour, filling the Sarah Palin slot. So she sticks in their minds even if they don’t actually remember much else about her.

But 21% and 4% aren’t the kind of numbers you win with. Pundits keep talking about a battle for dominance within the party and predicting a decline in trumps influence, but I see no evidence of that. Among politicians, yes, but actual Republican voters are still solidly Trumpist and determined to purge anyone who crosses Trump out of the party. I suppose that might change by 2024 if he’s been in prison for a while, but right now there’s no sign of it.

  11. I did not bother to read the 2nd and 3rd winners, and wihen i did, I larfed. Wow, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Nikki Haley must be fucking drinking themselves to sleep tonight. Admittedly , Rubio is doing it through a sippy cup./

Rubio is too young-looking (and short) and Cruz is just irritating, even to wingnuts, and the Cancun thing was embarrassing and is fresh in everyone’s mind right now. Haley has bucked Trump a few times and they don’t like “uppity” women. Besides, she’s “of color”, as they say these days. I mean, she’s obviously white if you just go by appearance and don’t know she’s of Indian descent, but everybody does know that.

I still think when the time comes to actually vote for a nominee, Josh Hawley will have the best chance (assuming Trump isn’t available). He’s the one who best checks the “hated by the Republican establishment” box, and to any true Trumpanzee, that’s the most important credential of all.

Apparently LDN denied that he’s starting a new party, repeating (clearly, someone had to tell him this enough times to get it to stick) that dividing the party would divide the vote, but he’s LDN, Lord of the Lies, so maybe we can look forward to the Patriot* party after all.
(That * isn’t for a footnote, it’s just “Patriot with an asterisk”)
