I cannot imagine a cat doing this, but then again those vids of cats trying to escape the bathtub are pretty great. What dogs lack in grace, they make up for in enthusiasm.

Our dear departed Domino would do the cartoon ‘running in place’ thing if you surprised her in the kitchen by doing things like [checks notes] “coming into the kitchen if she was there”. We didn’t even keep the floor that well polished, but it always took her a bit of flailing until she managed to get some traction.
Weird cat.

Look at that tail wagging. You can’t tell me that it’s not intentional.

Dogs live in the moment. Even if it was an accident, Poochie decided to go with it.

We once lived with a hardwood floor. One day not knowing better my wife waxed it with furniture polish.
The first thing I noticed was the cat sliding sideways trying to turn down the hallway. Then our dog came barreling through and hit the wall. Then he picked himself up and all 4 feet went out from under him.
I couldn’t stop laughing at their antics until I tried to go down the same hallway. I had to hold onto the wall to walk and even then it was like ice.
I loved the look of that floor but I just don’t like the ice rink in my home. You may never know that hardstyle furniture wax doesn’t work for wood floors, but we do.
