Ah, Texas!

Ayn Rand’s Grave

That’s Texas’ Lt. Governor Dan Patrick telling people to read the fine print of their electricity contracts, you know, because it’s their own fault that the electric company made serious coin off of them.

Patrick, as you may recall, was the mook who suggested at the start of the pandemic that gramps and mee-maw might be willing to die to save Capitalism for their grandkids:

So, you know that Patrick is all-in to do whatever it takes to fix whatever is wrong in Texas.

And what is wrong in Texas, is that there’s a few scattered Ameros left to be stripmined from the citizens serfs….

What is it with Texas…do they have some sort of Top-Sekrit Asshole production laboratory somewhere that is busily cranking out ever-bigger assholes on demand for the Tex-ass GQP?

I mean this is Ted Cruz called and thinks you should be less of an asshole territory…

The Japanese have this really cool thing they do with swords: they stick a short sword in their belly while their buddy chops their head off with a long sword. Something about Honor …

Saw it in a Chuck Norris movie. (or was it tom cruz?)

If they all have the same fine print, what difference does it make that you can choose one?
    (You can choose one, right?)

    • Well I’ll expect it’s mostly all the same, but when you don’t allow compatition outside yourr little fishbowl marke the invisible fist of the market place quickly goes all “look what you made me do, bitch!” on people.

Texas’ system was explicitly designed to behave just this way. The entire system was built to maximise profit at the expense of service.

That’s why they are so desperate to keep any sort of regulation out. Texas is just a third-world banana republic pretending to be a part of a first world county, and this storm just ripped the mask off pretty hard.

As far as failed experiments in “Democracy” go, Texas’s will forever be consigned to the top of the trash heap.
