That Takes Some Brass

Amply be-chinned Mitch McConnell

Imma park this quote from amply be-chinned Mitch McConnell’s W$J editorial here:

“There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone. His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended.”

“I was as outraged as any member of Congress. But senators take our own oaths. Our job wasn’t to find some way, any way, to inflict a punishment. The Senate’s first and foundational duty was to protect the Constitution.”

OK, that’s all good but then we get to:

“But impeachment is not some final moral tribunal. It is a specific tool with a narrow purpose: restraining government officers. The instant Donald Trump ceased being the president, he exited the Senate’s jurisdiction.”

…and we note that #MoscowMitch figuratively drove the get-away car when he adjourned the Senate ensuring that twice-impeached LOSER Prznint Stupid would be ex-Prznint Stupid.

We also note that more-or-less means that private citizen Lord Damp Nut is tossed to the tender mercies of the criminal court system, with Mitch’s blessings. Of course, he stacked the courts, but it didn’t pay off in 60+ laughable cases in the recent Goat Rodeo.

Our consolation prize is that  Rep. Kevin McCarthy has lost control of his Qaucus in the House, so the words that came out of ol’ Mitch’s pie hole will be used in 2022 campaign ads against the entire GQP.

  1. #MoscowMitch. “unconstitutional” You keep using that word….I do not think it means what you think it means….

There is historical Senate precedent for an impeachment trial under exactly those conditions…

Whut? What is the purpose of impeachment, imbecilic? Protecting the Constitution is not only your duty but your job. You actually get paid for it. Your job was to perform as impartial jurors in a trial punishable by impeachment. You publicly and blatantly failed that job. Your name will go down in history as an obstructionist prick amongst many other and worse names. Sucks to be you. Prick.
