Stable Jenius
Twice-impeached ex-prznint Stupid’s impeachment defense team has quit. We don’t know why but we can speculate that the check bounced or maybe they saw the evidence and decided that they WOULD like to work in that town again.
Anyway, here’s what we know:
First on CNN: Trump’s impeachment defense team leaves less than two weeks before trial
It was a dramatic development in the second impeachment trial for Trump, who has struggled to find lawyers willing to take his case. And now, with legal briefs due next week and a trial set to begin only days later, Trump is clinging to his election fraud charade and suddenly finds himself without legal representation…
…No other attorneys have announced they are working on Trump’s impeachment defense.
A person familiar with the departures told CNN that Trump wanted the attorneys to argue there was mass election fraud and that the election was stolen from him rather than focus on the legality of convicting a president after he’s left office. Trump was not receptive to the discussions about how they should proceed in that regard.
The attorneys had not yet been paid any advance fees and a letter of intent was never signed.
BINGO!
This presents a serious conundrum for the Senate: They have to give Trump due process, but if he goes out and hires attorneys to make the arguments he wants, the chamber could find itself giving a platform to the very conspiracy theories that led to the deadly Jan. 6 riot.
And the Coup Klux Klan will still not convict him. Constitutional remedies are now a sham thanks to the fascists.

Not to worry. Trump still has one lawyer left — an oozing, farting, Borat-befuddled, dildo-parking-lot lawyer who lost every single election-fraud suit he was involved in and whose bills Trump hasn’t been paying.
If there’s one guy who could manage the stupendous feat of losing a case where half the jury consists of cronies of his client, it’s Rudy Giuliani.

Rudi has a “conflict of interest” since he also incited the insurrection. I don’t think h’s in the picture at all.

Rudy said he can’t do it, because he’s likely to get called as a witness.
Worse, he may commit perjury!

Next up: the argument that the trial can’t happen because he can’t obtain any legal representation.
I thought he was a genius, can’t he defend himself?

Andy Borowitz said he got himself a Law Degree from “Trump University!” LOL

It’s not a criminal trial, Trump doesn’t have any legal “right” to be represented by a lawyer in this context and if no real lawyer is willing to represent him, well … that’s just too damned bad.

I am definitely going to have to stock up on popcorn for the trial. Especially if the Cheetolini decides to represent himself as some now suggest. He demands they re-legislate his insane election complaints rather than defend the actual charges. How fitting that he can now hang himself in a trial.
Of course, the jury is rigged, and a lack of justice is on his side. It’s not like there will be any justice in the outcome, but hey, it’s great theater.
I expect a true and televised “Captian Queeg” moment for all to see. For that, I can’t wait.

What about Frederick Douglas? From what I understand, he’s not busy.
