For a guy who complains about being muzzled, he won’t shut up, and keeps making a bee-line for any mic he spots:
Hawley files ethics counter-complaint against seven Dem senators
“The idea that one Senator who disagrees with another Senator can therefore have that Senator punished, sanctioned, censured, or removed is utterly antithetical to our democracy and the very idea of open, lawful debate,” Hawley (R-Mo.) wrote in a letter to the seven Democrats…
“In light of the shameful abuse of the ethics process you have deliberately engaged in, I have considered whether I should call for you to resign or be expelled from the Senate,” Hawley wrote to the seven Democrats. “But I continue to believe in the First Amendment, which the US Supreme Court has repeatedly said protects even ‘offensive’ and malicious speech, such as yours.”
It’s the classic, “Your mother is a slut and your father’s a drunk, but I’m not one to gossip” gambit.
He’s shameless. But that’s some really powerful sounding nonsense, which will surely play well with the snake-handlers back in Possum Hollar, Missouri.

Hawley learned well from his Trump master: be brash, repeat lies over and over, ignore the rules and force yourself into the public eye constantly. And lie some more. And play the pity card.
If he can’t be silenced for his insurrection, then we’ll be dealing with him for years to come.

Or at least deafened by him and his pitiful screeching.

With Parteigenosse (party comrade), so continues the devolution of the GOP. As with everything Nazi it sounds better in the original German. So glad the Germans have distanced themselves from the Chumpanzees, but with the seeming universal rise in right wing idiot(ology) things will be challenging for those of us who dwell in the sane world…

In the best tradition of Monty Python, the obvious reply to hawley is : “I fart in your general direction.”

He’s a prick and all but his speech is protected by the First Amendment. On the other hand, the Senate is not bound by the First Amendment in its various rules and powers (whatever they may be this week.) Hawley would probably escape judgement for incitement in a court of law but (unless they fade in the bell lap) the Senate can do pretty much anything it chooses to him. Include impeach him when he’s president. Who am I kidding.

Some skeevy publisher picked up his book, he’s getting printed in the Murdoch Post — lots of people would love to be “muzzled” like that.

It is Regnery Press. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regnery_Publishing#Conservative_and_anti-communist_books
They’ve been Nazi-Curious since the beginning.

Simon & Schuster, which had the original Hawley book contract, have some sort of business relationship with Regnery Press, so any profits will remain in-house. I hate the way that the Corporate media does these things.

Confession or projection?
He disagrees.
They have a case.
Is this the best defense he can come up with?
