This brings me some hope:
Moving trucks arrive at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club on Palm Beach
PALM BEACH, Fla. — Several large moving trucks arrived at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club on Palm Beach Monday morning, sparking speculation that he’ll move to South Florida once he leaves office.
Are they packing up the joint to take it to Saudi Arabia when he flees here ahead of prosecution?
WPTV Chopper 5 flew above Mar-a-Lago around 9:30 a.m. and spotted at least two trucks from JK Moving Services stationed in front of the club, along with workers carting large moving boxes into the property.
Rats. Also a question: was Merde-a-Lardo the location shot for Fantasy Island? The video at that news site looks like it so much I was wating for someone to yell, “Da plane.”
Our pal Ten Bears is speculating where Lord Damp Nut will flee, once the Fourth Reich concludes. He’s done more research than I have and so I will bow to his expertise in the matter.
If they bring in carpet, I bet the White House floors are now bare.

I thought there were restrictions in place wrt Trump moving back there permanently, as in locals don’t want him there. Also, just an fyi, the Fantasy Island shot was from the Botanical Gardens in Ca, and I know this because my sister got married on the grounds there.

I’m wondering if the neighbors will start the counter now or wait until he sleezes in tomorrow.
I’m betting they started the counter the minute the trucks pulled up. And called their attorneys right after.

Apparently, Palm Beach has a law prohibiting private residence in a public
access club, which Mar-a-Lago is, and the city is gearing up for a legal confrontation, to prohibit Suckface from moving in. Gonna be interesting, if he thinks he can just ignore the law. ‘Twould be wondrously perfect, if he is forced to move out, covered by all the news agencies!

I might even prefer if he was allowed to stay but lost all that lovely cash from dues and tax breaks that he traded in his residency options for. I know he is totally used to getting his way, but he is high profile enough now that he might not get away with trying to out-deep-pocket Palm Beach. He might even be leveraged enough now to have, er, shallower pockets.

“Amid reports that the president intends to live full-time at Mar-a-Lago once the White House becomes unavailable, some of Trump’s neighbors have posited that the 1993 agreement that allowed the developer to turn the 118-room mansion into a private club also blocked Trump from living at the property.
The agreement barred members from visiting the club more than three times or for more than 21 total days during a single year. Town minutes of the meeting during which the deal was approved state that Trump’s attorney said that he would not reside at Mar-a-Lago “except that he will be a member of the club and would be entitled to use the guest rooms.”
Then in 2002, Trump signed another agreement, this time with the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States, transferring development rights for the historic landmark to the non-profit. The deal substantially reduced his property taxes in exchange for a pledge to “forever extinguish their right to develop or use the property for any purpose other than club use.”
“In order to avoid an embarrassing situation for everyone and to give the president time to make other living arrangements in the area, we trust you will work with his team to remind them of the use agreement parameters,” Reginald Stambaugh, an attorney representing some of Trump’s neighbors, wrote in a letter last week to Mayor Gail Coniglio.
Stambaugh argued that Trump — who before the start of the pandemic made frequent visits to the club — was already in violation of the agreement.
Even if that’s true, the town likely can’t block the Trumps from moving to Mar-a-Lago, or any of Trump’s other properties on the island. “There is no document or agreement in place that prohibits President Trump from using Mar-a-Lago as his residence,” said a spokesperson for the Trump Organization, which manages the properties in Trump’s portfolio.
But Mar-a-Lago’s use agreement gives the town government the ability to enforce the terms of the deal that allowed Trump to convert the residence to a commercial enterprise. Options include moving to revoke the club’s occupational license if Trump violates the deal, a potentially costly and complicated problem for Trump, whose club continues to function as a nexus for conservatives even as his time as president comes to an end.

It’s a pretty simple concept, one I’ve enforced from time to time. It amounts to “you can choose A or B”, usually when A was “stay in our spare room”. The simple answer is when you choose A and then later choose B, you have chosen to discard A. Free choice, and he knew it going in, so eff his feelings.
FYF or FHF might end up being another popular internet abbreviation. How about FTF (F. Trump’s Feelings)?
