Percent who agree America is falling apart
Ipsos/Axios poll of 1,019 U.S. adults, Jan. 11-13, 2021
Republican: 83%
Democrat: 78%
Total:79%
The two parties agree: In a new Axios-Ipsos poll, fourth-fifths of Americans — both Republicans and Democrats — say America is falling apart.
- Why it matters: The question, asked Tuesday and Wednesday, reflects the collision of crises besetting the country — the backdrop of a pandemic, recession, decoupling of red/blue America, and racial injustice + the immediacy of the Capitol insurrection, followed by Impeachment II.
22% of Democrats and 19% of independents — one-fifth of each — say they aren’t proud to be an American.
- 7% of Republicans, and 17% of Americans as a whole, say that.
The bottom line: Something else to agree on … Both parties say traditional party leaders don’t get them.

Yeah, these “former” guys can kindly fuck off. They were wrong before and they’re wrong now. .and they’ll be wrong tomorrow.
And the polls ask voters if they think the country is falling apart. They should assess why, because half the country will say it’s falling apart because Democrats kept blaming Trump and they took God out of schools and because Republicans have had to be the victims of socialism and the Covid virus was blown out of proportion. That’s where the battle will be: fighting Right Wing crap.

As long as the worthless beltway media allows morally bankrupt republicans to air their “grievances” which amount to proven lies that are broadcast as entertainment to the denizens of possum hollar in order to delegitimize democratic administrations and their politicians while those individuals are trying in vain to clean up yet another set of republican messes, we can expect to see more instances of insurrection like the one last week.
