(UPDATED) Where Things Stand, Maybe?

Goat isn’t taking any bull.

Democratic leaders demanded that Prznint Stupid be removed from office after inciting insurrection; principled 4th Reich officials have bravely resigned (Devos quit late yesterday to spend more time with her yachts!), and senator Hawley who led the sedition just sort of putters along.

Anyway, the whole thing, as we all know, was just a big misunderstanding: the real culprit was Antifa infiltrators.

The Hill tells us:

Republican senators now regret not doing more to contain Trump

You don’t say?

Lord Damp Nut proved that he CAN read at least for a hostage tape:

And our Failed Political Press hailed it as a new tone, and we are NOT making that up:

Sen. Josh Hawley’s publisher has cancelled his book, and he blames… political correctness:

and the spitballing begins:

And we will conclude by noting what Scissorhead Skinny-D noticed: both of  his existing books on Amazon are barely reviewed. (Wink-wink)

UPDATE 1: Politico’s morning email thingie:

Lost his book deal.

— Was called out by his home-state St. Louis Post-Dispatchfor a“tardy, cover-his-ass condemnation of the violence” that “ranks at the top of his substantial list of phony, smarmy and politically expedient declarations.”

— Was slammed by his former mentor. “‘The biggest mistake I’ve ever made.’ Danforth rues mentoring Hawley, blames him for riot,”Kansas City Star

— And was denounced by one of his key donors. “Major Josh Hawley donor calls for him to be censured by the U.S. Senate,”Missouri Independent…

Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), a Biden ally who has strong relationships across the aisle, is even calling on Hawley and Cruz to resign: http://politi.co/38mnXvV … And the editorial boards for two newspapers in Missouri also called on Hawley to step down (h/t CNN’s Rebecca Buck): https://bit.ly/3oryonB.

— Chao resigns from Transportation Department, citing ‘traumatic,’ ‘avoidable’ Capitol riot, by our Tanya Snyder: http://politi.co/3s5YKhd.

— John Kelly: I would vote to remove Trump by CNN’s Devan Cole: http://cnn.it/3opZsUg

STATE LEGISLATORS GET INVOLVED: State legislators across the country are calling on their GOP representatives in Congress to step down in wake of what they say is their role in the riots at the Capitol Wednesday.

– In Illinois, the state’s Legislative Jewish Caucus called on Rep. Mary Miller to resign after she invoked Hitler in a speech on the Capitol grounds immediately preceding the violence: https://bit.ly/2MJfryJ.

– In Maryland, the state’s Democratic Party called on Rep. Andy Harris to resign after he voted to challenge certification of the electoral college votes Wednesday: https://bit.ly/2Lch5bF.

– In Kentucky, the state’s Democratic Party called on Rep. Hal Rogers to resign for the same, saying doing so “enabled and emboldened the mob”: https://bit.ly/3bkzk9E.

– Similar scenarios are playing out in Arkansas, Michigan, New York and elsewhere. Whether or not any of them will be heeded remains to be seen.

  2. Are we sure this is real or just a deepfake version of his sullen ‘I’m sorry you think I was an asshole’ announcement when he was finally forced to apologize for the ‘fine people on both sides’ thing after the incel tiki parade nazi murder spree in Charlottsville?

Also I do so love it when the asskicking foot of Karma and Invisible bitchslapping Hand of the Market tag team one of these blowhards.

Fuck you, Joshie, you fucking seditionist scumbag.

Simon & Schuster turned me down twice, and I actually wrote something.

Said something about moon-sized bee hives fleeing the solar system and old people in million dollar motor-homes stuck out on the High Desert with nowhere to go and no way to get there were “unrealistic”.

    Bet he keeps the advance.

Any word yet on how many Russian spies were able to access the Senate chambers along with their republican enablers? How about, has the CIA done a complete sweep of the Capitol Bldg or do we just put our trust in republican insurrectionists? Asking for a friend.

    • Reports are that “a number of laptops” are missing, presumed stolen. Congress’ system should be considered throughly compromised by now, as in “nuke and pave everything, and restore from the Jan 5 backups”

(which is making the gargantuan leap of faith that they have backups and that Congressional staff actually obey the rules for data security.)

Yeah, I hope so, but I doubt it. And even if they did have some sort of self-wipe doomsday thingie, by now everything would have been copied.

Also, no telling how many bugs were planted in offices. There will never be a private conversation again.

      • Oh god it gets worse…Joy Reid had Rep Jaypal on tonight and she was saying that specific offices were ransacks, like the Majority Whip’s office … not the one that says “Majority Whip” but his actual personal office…which you had to know where it was.

She said that they’re scared, because they know that people on the inside were involved, and they now they’re not protected in the Capitol. They cannot trust their own police force.

Rep Jaypal was concerned that it may have even been representatives “…from the other side..” who aided the putsch.

She’s my Rep., and she’s damn smart. If she’s worried, it means we should be worried. It’s real.

Fucking Republican Tool from Spokane, Congressperson Cathy McMorris-Rodgers, dodged a bullet, er uh, dodged a censure. On the morning of Wednesday, January 6 she said she would object to the Electoral College vote count, challenging President-elect Joe biden’s win in certain states. Ok, then.

Later that afternoon, for some inexplicable reason, she changed her mind. Oh, that was after the seditionists stormed the Capitol at the behest of her Lord and Traitor. She gave a statement of blather. Someone probably read her the riot act.

She had been one of the Texas law suit maggots that the Onion had catalogued (and to which bdr had linked in the “New Tab” posting comments) down page.

Fck the republicans and their fake regret. I have no time for them or their piss poor excuses. They can reap it.
