Oddly Comforting and Yet Strangely Chilling

This will probably make the conspiracy theorist prick up their ears: the  living former secretaries of defense signed an open letter about the military and the peaceful transfer of power:

“As senior Defense Department leaders have noted, ‘there’s no role for the U.S. military in determining the outcome of a U.S. election.’ Efforts to involve the U.S. armed forces in resolving election disputes would take us into dangerous, unlawful and unconstitutional territory. Civilian and military officials who direct or carry out such measures would be accountable, including potentially facing criminal penalties, for the grave consequences of their actions on our republic.”

And we learn more about it from one of the signees:

That Blam-Blam thought this was necessary gives one pause.

You betcha.

I’m still not worried about a military coup, but the Possum Hollar irregulars? Also you betcha.

Wasn’t it Dick Cheney that said Ronald Reagan proved David Frum wasn’t necessary?

  2. That Blam-Blam thought this was necessary gives me more than pause….it gives me the feeling that there’s a F7 clusterfuck a-coming…

Trump has stuffed a bunch of whackaloons, fascists and cronies of the likes of “MooCow” Nunes and Mike “A little light treason” Flynn into the top spots in the DoD, and they’ve been quiet. Too quiet…leading me to think they’re ginning up some sort of ‘January Surprise’

I’m worried more about Trump calling up his “alternative military” ICE and CBP thugs and those other paid mercenaries recruited to fight under their banners. There are tens of thousands of these beasts, and they are more than willing to do Trump’s bidding.

It’s unsettling when people with experience feel compelled to come together to voice their concerns. Not a siren, not a red flag per se, but this sense of unease. The thing is, we can never trust Trump to be rational, and if one of his skeevy Nazi advisers like Stephen Miller is nudging him into a takeover, we need to pay attention.

If tRump has been making recent phone calls to “his” generals, I’m certain it was to enlist their assistance in achieving the fastest possible vaccine distribution nationwide. Yeah, sometimes I crack myself up!

Don’t forget US Marshal personnel, as well as Bureau of Prisons and ICE. They’ve been very helpful to Pig Eyes before.

Start with the assumption that, even without the military, he’s got nearly 50,000 troops.

The downside of Cheney’s statement is that it’s also a pledge not to help if it hits the fan.

I’m in hair on fire mode until 1/21.

So………..was the USS Nimitz brought home in order to avoid crippling damage to her in the event of a large-scale conflict in the ME? Or was it done as a deterrent, so she could not be used to light the fuse, and carry the day, as one would say?
And the B-52 overflights have also been canceled, or at least curtailed for now, but the Iranians were said to be getting a bit nervous, going so far as to emplace their SAMs in many more locations just beyond their borders than they had done, before this new round of saber-rattling.

Maybe their thinking is/was, “you dance with the one who brung ya,” meaning if Dumpy DID start a war, we wouldn’t/couldn’t be rid of him so easily, that the lackeys he’s installed at the Pentagon would insist that as the C-in-C who began the conflict, he MUST be allowed to stay and finish, that the circumstances warrant there be no transfer of power, lest we lose the advantage, and thus, the possibility of losing the war.

Still, when “Evil Dick Cheney,” says you are bad, you really are bad.
