One Lump of Stupid or Two?

Republicans do not negotiate.

The HuffPo alerts us to something we already know: Republicans are assholes:

“Most voters are pessimistic about the prospects for bipartisanship under the new Biden administration, according to a new HuffPost/YouGov survey. ”

No duh, really?

“The results are a clear case of partisan asymmetry. About half of voters think President-elect Joe Biden will attempt to work with Republicans, but fewer than one-third believe the GOP will try to work with him.”

Breaking: Water is still wet. But what do the voters actually want?

Democratic voters say by a 10-percentage-point margin that they’d like Biden to compromise in order to work across the aisle rather than stick to his positions even if it means not coming to an agreement. Republican voters, by a 29-point margin, say Republicans in Washington should stick to their positions.”

Democrats know that the Party of Sedition does not negotiate, and certainly not in good faith. It’s a fool’s errand to think that they will. Negotiating with Republicans involves being taken hostage until you agree with 100% of their demands.

Personally, I don’t know any Democrats who want Handsome Joe Biden to sell-out to the Party of Sedition. I think plenty of Democrats are worried that he will. There is a difference.

Infidel had a link to a story about facing down bullies. It was then described as a cautionary tale that Biden should remember when dealing with Republicans.
    I agree.

I don’t know any Dem voters who want him to “work with” Republicans. Well, maybe after each legislative house rids itself of the seditious members who want to overturn a legal election. Maybe the remaining, if any, Republicans could be willing to revive the old collegiality there used to be in the Senate.
Also, I know no Republican voters who want anything but for Republican legislators to do nothing but make things miserable for everyone else.

I don’t know any Dem voters here at all. Some of that might be the noncommittal protective coloration I employ. It ain’t safe here to be publicly Dem.
Occasionally I come in favor of the whole story or the truth. It might get me outed eventually.

    ali –
Biden’s always been willing to give it “the old collegial try…”

So, let’s begin betting on how many “Failz” it will take before he either caves entirely, or comes to his senses.
