Better Late Than Never, I Guess?

Mirror, mirror on the wall
Who’s the most full of merde of all?

“Well, there are some people that are so mendacious, I just wouldn’t put them on air. Kayleigh McEnany, I never booked her. Jason Miller from the Trump campaign, I would never book him. These are just people who tell lies the way that most people breathe. There was no value in that.”

–CNN’s Jake Tapper

Sadly. At this time of year, many children discover that Santa Claus doesn’t exist.

If only the media had decided during Trump’s campaign in 2016 that liars and grifters would not be given air time, we might have avoided four years of living hell. Aw, Trump called Mexicans “murderers and rapists” and he is on tape talking about grabbing pussies and look, he mocked a disabled journalist and an Asian guy. Ha ha, how funny!

No greater minds prevailed in reporting then. The stories were framed as outrageous, like quirky tales of a billionaire with rough edges. Instead, they should have been framed as the hateful, racist, misogynist red flags that they were. Charitable reporting like that is what built up his base, and they follow him to this day.

MAGAninny used to be on CNN. Jason Miller works there now. I know Tapper doesn’t hire or fire, but sooner or later…
