This Ain’t Normal

Banana Republicans Worship Hair Füror
This tweet hit home last night:
While our supposed prznint openly flirts with carrying out a military coup against our own country and actively covers for Russia and therefore is a national security threat, the Republican Party is completely silent.
We cannot accept this; there’s no reaching across the aisle, there’s no finding common ground because there is none. That Republicans are enabling this madman and supporting sedition is beyond acceptable.
The GOP is a fascist movement dedicated to nothing but power. Burn the GOP to the ground, salt the earth, scatter the ashes to the 4 corners of the earth so the beast cannot reassemble itself.
We have no higher calling.
The only agency that has the power of making an arrest in the Whitey House, or on the grounds, is the Secret Service. And as sworn Officers of the Court, which gives them that power, if they witness a crime being committed, it is their honor-bound and civic duty to arrest the person(s) involved.
At the very least, they should have arrested Gen. Flynn, and anyone else present who espoused not just seditious acts, but who committed Treason, by calling for a coup of some kind. They could have, and probably should have arrested the preznit himself, because there is no Rule or Law that says a sitting prez cannot be arrested or indicted, or otherwise dealt with by the proper law enforcement officials, it is merely a guideline drafted by the Office of Legal Counsel at the Justice Dep’t. at the urging of several congress-critters who didn’t mind having a slightly crooked, or even corrupt criminal in the Oval Office, as it would work towards their favor.
Laurence Tribe explains it quite well here:

You’re likely right, but I expect that Rudy and his hair dye would argue “Executive Privilege,” in that the President and his flunkies can discuss any scenarios they want to address a situation, but as they did not launch them, they neither conspired to carry them out, nor actually did so.
The Secret Service will likely haul him out of the Oval Office on January 20, at high noon, for felony trespassing and continued unauthorized possession of secret material, up to and including the “Biscuit” which contains the nuclear launch codes. He ABSOLUTELY cannot retain those.
By the way, that handover is usually done in the Capitol a few minutes BEFORE the inauguration ceremony, just in case someone fires missiles at us in that interregnum, to enabled the new president to make the decision speedily on his watch.

So Flynn can get hit with new charges by Biden’s AG in 31 days.
And NO PARDON!

Just you wait. Handsome Joe reassures us all that in 6-8 short months, the sociopathic redneck a**hole republicans will be mysteriously free of trumpism & of fat Nixon & will work towards solutions that doesn’t just place more money into the hands of the inbred wealthy oligarchs and other assorted grifters within the morally bankrupt republican cult. /s
FFS. The senile fool will negotiate away cuts to the social safety net while getting nothing in return but lip service in the name of bipartisanship. His drive towards some faux “unity” will put us back at this same juncture in four short years as those low-info swing voters will feel confident supporting the heir apparent to fat Nixon and burgeoning authoritarianism. We are so eff’d in the dark

You pretty much summed it up, Tengrain. I echo the thought that this is a post pardon indictable offense for which Flynn should be indicted after Jan 20.

The PA AG needs to bust Flynn for his role in the conspiracy to kidnap a Turkish cleric and return him to certain death in his home country.

Y’awl thought I was a “liberal” months ago when I expressed the desire to see them all stripped, of everything, from car keys to credit cards: cell phones, citizenship, clothes, and marched naked down Fifth Avenue to a waiting rusted out old oil tanker to carry them into banishment and permanent exile in whatever shithole third world country will have them.
