We’ve got the vaccine, but the states don’t have any money to distribute it:

Getting Covid Vaccines to People Will Cost States Billions TheyDon’t Have

“State leaders say they are short billions of dollars in funding needed to successfully provide Covid-19 vaccinations to all Americans who want to be inoculated by health officials’ June goal.

“The federal government is providing the vaccine, along with syringes, needles, face masks and shields. But state leaders say they must hire medical workers, provide community outreach and education, set up vaccination clinics and ensure storage capacity for vaccines. Some states are also concerned about having enough supplies, such as gloves and gowns, to protect health-care workers as well as people getting vaccinated.

“Officials in several states said they would spend whatever is needed to get residents vaccinated. Some said that might force spending cuts in areas like education, unless Congress provides additional funding or the federal government reimburses a large chunk of their rollout costs.”

Remember: amply be-chinned #MoscowMitch does NOT want to give any more relief money to the states, especially the blue ones, which he claims are mismanaged.

Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) on Meet The Press about the stimulus package in the Senate:

“There is now, I think, real optimism … We should not leave for the holidays until we have adopted that $908 billion framework to give a next round of relief to the millions of Americans who are facing eviction, hunger, unemployment, disease. It includes funding for vaccine distribution and $300 billion for small businesses to keep them afloat or help them reopen.”

…so if this bill dies with #MoscowMitch’s patented obstruction, well, so do we all.

      Howdy Julie!
Mitch had polio as a child. He is super extra-careful when it comes to communicable disease as a result. Even though many people have followed the rules and done everything right, they have still caught #COVID19. Mitch might could still catch it. If he did, he would likely get the elite treatment that is denied to the rest of us and survive it.

Since in the real world, the trickledown theory actually applies to expenses and not revenue, you can bet that ‘education’ will not be the only area that will see spending cuts. I would wager that many police departments will also be defunded as well. But, hey, it’s OK when a republican does it and blames a Democrat.

    Howdy y’all!
This is the problem with having a sports league with only two teams. No matter how Cleveland Browns-like your team is, you still support it. Because, who wants to root for the Cowboys, amirite?

Mitch and the GOP keep getting re-elected not because their constituents love them so much, but because they hate the alternative so much. They are willing to live in abject poverty, die excruciating early deaths, and live in abysmal environments just to screw the Democrats and liberals. So, Mitch and the GOP won’t stop debasing our democracy until the electorate punishes them. So far, the electorate seems of no mind to be doing so.

If the Dems were smart, they would work on creating an alternative conservative political party funded exclusively with dark money, theirs, to split the vote. But, I doubt the Dems would be up for such a venture.
