Republicans Throwing Cinder Blocks From The Overpass. Again.

Team Evil always has a plan.

If you wanted something to worry about, you came to the right place. This Twitter thread kept me up late the other night:

OMB Reportedly Designates 88% of Its Employees for Schedule F

The leadership of the Office of Management and Budget reportedly plans to reclassify the vast majority of its workforce into a new employment category, removing job protections and effectively making them at-will employees.

Last month, President Trump signed an executive order creating a new Schedule F within the excepted service for employees “in confidential, policy-determining, policy-making and policy-advocating positions” and instructing agencies to identify and transfer competitive service employees that meet that description into the new job classification, an initiative that could strip hundreds of thousands of federal workers of their civil service protections.

What seems obvious is that Prznint Stupid intended to You’re Fired career civil service employees if they did not pass his loyalty oath tests  administered by Johnny McEntee, who runs the Office of Presidential Personnel to weed out “Never Trumpers” from the administration. Prznint Stupid, of course, was assuming the Fourth Reich was re-elected.

But now that he does NOT have a second term, he’s gonna fire civil servants throughout the gubmint on his way out the door to punish us for not re-electing him. It also has the added benefit of crippling the emerging Biden Administration.

Yes, he’s throwing cinder blocks from the overpass. Again.

So what can we do?

I know I’m always asking you guys to call/write your representatives, but Jeebus Lizard, please call/write your representatives and tell them to co-sponsor this bill. If enough of us do this we can smother Schedule F in its crib.

Unfortunately I got stuck with that same shitty job classification on the current job contract that ends this Friday. It is a sign of the end stages of vulture based consumer capitalism since so many feel like corporations and the inbred swine that lead them into bankruptcy is worthwhile and noble. It doesn’t really inspire or motivate an individual to take on difficult, different tasks but it does gives incompetent middle managers something to bitch about and to falsely proclaim how great the inbred C-suite of business failures and their corporation are in times like this. Better to worship the ground that supposed visionaries like Jobs, Buffett, Dimon, Reagun and now fat nixon are than to remain critical and ignore the eventual blowback that always occurs with managerial incompetence by just blaming the next person who will eventually become frustrated and lack focus but who will play the political office games.

Handsome Joe is so eff’d in the dark and foolish if he continues to believe that all C-suite executives and their errand clerks within the morally bankrupt republican cult can be worked and negotiated with. I hope that he finds the stamina and concern to upend the chaos instead of just creating committees to talk about what is obvious.

This effort by tRump seems particularly revealing, considering what little knowledge or interest he has displayed in effective routine government functioning. Bad enough in its current state, imagine 4 more years of administrative agencies becoming even more fully-packed with tRump loyalist butt kissers.

Let us not EVER forget what his personal lawyer, who’s now serving time and isn’t getting a pardon said about Hair Füror and retaliation: ” When you attack Donald, he will punch back 10 times harder.”

So, as they say, “The proof is in the putting.” Putting millions of hard-working gov’t employees into the ranks of the unemployed. (I know, that’s not the kind of putting, and it’s spelt the same as putting in golf, so don’t get confused by my rambling elocutions.)

And I wouldn’t worry too much, as this new rule will certainly be challenged, and can almost immediately be undone with an EO from Fightin Joe, and there will be lists, so that everyone who gets fired’ed can be easily and quickly rehired.

    • Well, maybe, with the Senate throwing sabots onto the gears, they’ll probably require a finding from the (now all-trumpist) OMB that this will not cost taxpayer’s money…which of course it will because re-hiring that many workers is gonna cost a lot.

Never, EVER forget: the aim of the GOP is to establish the New Confederate States of America on the ashes of the United States. They’ve packed the courts with reactionaries who will gladly block any such appeals.

This is all Presidential Order stuff, right? OK, so maybe the good employees hit the unemployment ranks for a month or two. Then Joe is in and by his own Presidential Order reverses the firings. They will have all these people’s names and numbers, not like they are being disappeared.
And for Donny’s people they are left with no job security now at all, to begin with, so getting rid of them is a breeze.
t will be sad for business as usual, but I just don’t see it being more than a hiccup.
